I was a swollen 34 weeks pregnant when I did this!! And it was so simple and easy to install, I’m convinced anyone can do it too! • Comment “slat” and I’ll send you the accent panels I used for this project! Then, save this post to come back for these instructions 👇🏼 • Easy DIY Slat Accent Wall: - Measure the WIDTH of the wall, then divide that by the WIDTH of one accent panel (7”) to see how many inches of cut off you will have on one end. - Make sure the width of the first panel and the last panel will begin and end on a 3D edge and not on a groove. The groove will make it look like a big gap, which we want to avoid! - Scribe the first panel on your accent wall (if you wall is straight you get to skip this step!) by marking a line with a pencil and cutting down the line with a jigsaw. - Apply construction adhesive to the back of the panel. - Secure the panel to the wall by nailing it along the lip where it will meet the next panel. (I used a brad nailer, but you can even use a hammer and nails if you’d like). Make sure to press hard all over the panel so the glue can do its job! - The panels have a locking mechanism, so you will be able to hide all of the nail holes when you put on the next panel! - Attach the rest of the panels the same way until the last panel. You might need to scribe the last panel to the wall similar to the first panel. - Enjoy your easy, adorable accent wall!
