Brutally honest review:

-The warm brown plaid looks sophisticated and expensive. I love the neck tie detail

-the brown skirt is a great pairing

-The fabric feels like quality: 84% lyocell and 16% polyester, which should give it a softer, more fluid drape than an ordinary polyester blouse.

-It’s machine washable.

-true to size, I am wearing a Large

& it’s on SALE!!

Fall workwear, but make it feminine. 🤎

A plaid bow-tie blouse with tailored brown shorts is such an easy way to start dressing for fall when it’s still way too warm for sweaters. I love finding polished fall outfits for women over 40 that feel classic and feminine without looking overly corporate.

Save this one if you’re looking for fall work outfit ideas, feminine workwear, business casual outfits, transitional fall fashion, plaid tops, brown outfits, or women over 40 style.

My Brutally Honest Review: Is this $129 CeCe fall dress worth it?

The fitted waist is flattering without clinging, and the burgundy print works beautifully for fall workwear, or a weekend outfit. I especially appreciate that it’s made from a breathable stretch-cotton blend rather than polyester.

My one hesitation is the high, narrow V-neck. It’s the most flattering neckline, but it is subtle and work appropriate. Wearing a long necklace would add to this dress. At 5’3”, the 50-inch length also fits me more like a maxi than a midi.

Overall verdict: 8/10 and a keep for the fabric, feminine silhouette and work-to-weekend versatility. I’m wearing a size 12.
