I used to dread the middle-of-the-night pump. 😩 Being uncomfortable, sitting upright, trying to stay awake… it was my least favorite part of the newborn stage.

With @babyation , it’s become so much easier. I can actually get comfortable and stay reclined, which makes such a difference at 2am.

And being able to quickly switch one side off when baby wakes up earlier than expected? That’s the type of flexibility I need. I can nurse him on one side while continuing to pump on the other without having to completely stop what I’m doing and risk leaking this precious milk in the process.

There’s something about those first postpartum nights that feels impossible to describe. The room is quiet, baby is finally asleep, and you find yourself trying to soak in every second because you know it won’t stay this little for long.

One thing I’d never do again after my first baby? Rely on a baby bottle sterilizer. 🫣

I know they’re popular, but for me it created MORE work. I still had to hand wash everything first… then run the sterilizer… then constantly clean mineral buildup out of the sterilizer itself.

So before my twins were born, I completely changed my system and created a dedicated bottle + pump cleaning station in our nursery bathroom instead of the kitchen — and it honestly saved my sanity postpartum.

Our kitchen isn’t just far from the nursery… it’s BUSY. The sink and dishwasher are constantly being used, especially with multiple kids, cooking, dishes, and real life happening all day long. I also didn’t love the idea of bottle and pump parts constantly sharing space with raw meat prep, dirty dishes, and kitchen messes. Having a completely separate cleaning station just made so much more sense for us.

This countertop dishwasher has a way bigger capacity than most baby washer/sterilizer combos and lets me wash bottles, pump parts, pacifiers, flanges, and more all in one place. I just add detergent, fill the water reservoir from the sink (or you can connect it directly), and run it.

This system worked incredibly well with twins, and I’m so glad to have it set back up for baby #4.

Honestly… this might need to become a series of “things I used with my first that I’d never do again as a mom of almost 4” because I’ve definitely learned how to work smarter postpartum 😅
