straight geeking from last night…. I can’t stop reminiscing, rewatching videos, singing… I’m just a much happier individual today! Yall I got to see HARDY last night at the Charleston civic center. We had floor seats!!!! I am the biggest fangirl of him and his music like day one kinda love 🎶 date night for me is always a concert (preferably), take or leave the dinner. I mean I like going out to eat, but I’d rather use the money to get better seats 😂😂😂 Last night we did do a local Italian restaurant beforehand, Fazio’s. And it was litty titty! It’s been there since like 1945, a local delicacy for the area :) I’m originally from WV so it was super nostalgic for me to get to eat there and see this show. I had a bought a million Thank you Jesus moments 🙌 Country music concert outfit 🎫 I got tons of compliments on this cute cassette muscle tank top! Easter dessert ✝️

Chocolate cross cake for the win 🙌🙌🙌
Tis the reason for the season 🤍

This isn’t very hard and such a great centerpiece for the dessert table. Just make your favorite 9x13 cake and cut it in half long ways (hot dog) then cut one of the sides in half again, then one of those halves you cut again. The two smaller squares of the cake are the sides of the cross, the longer side you didn’t cut is the bottom base and that other piece is the top :)
I’ve included the Pinterest picture I used for the cutting direction.
Then cover in icing so it looks even nicer. :)
This was such a hit! Especially with the kiddies!

I added some egg candies (m&ms) along the sides to spice it up and cover my edges 🤗

For the cake recipe I used:
1 box of brownie mix
1 box of devils food choc cake mix
4 eggs
1 cup oil
1 1/4 c water

Obsessed with this OTS white maxi dress 🤍 I wore this today for our family pictures 🫶

This was part of my @Fashionpass haul and I might had a hard time sending back :)

This would also be perfect to take on a vacation, beach photos, engagement pictures or really anything! This dress is stunning. It has beautiful lace detail with little flowers, feminine ruffles across the shoulders, plus a little slit with a float bottom and it fits perfectly. Normally with ots, the dress has a hard time staying up but this one stayed in place and it was comfortable 🙌 (wearing a small)

found the easiest and yummiest chocolate cake recipie 🤤

Yall combine a chocolate cake mix with a brownie mix, bake together and then take a jar of chocolate icing and melt it then pour over the cake! This taste just like a bakery cake, the boysssss couldn’t get enough 🤎

anyone else love having prayer time on the bathroom floor?! lol

alsooo I’ve been consistently making myself write out my prayers on paper versus using my notes in my phone and ohhhh it’s made a world of difference… something about writing it all out on paper…. Most of the time I have like 4/5 pages of stuff to tell him about (not that he already doesn’t know- but I feel soothed and I get to visually see and document prayers he’s answered and questions he’s answered soooo clearly that ive previously asked) and sometimes it’s like 10 pages, other days it’s a few sentences and maybe some tears 🤷‍♀️
This is also a great way to get creative juices flowing… I notice when I stop physically writing, so do the ideas and motivation - go figure lol like duhhhh Cala more prayer and Bible will make you feel and perform better 🤦‍♀️

anywayssss highly recommend sneaking away into the bathroom or closet floor and brain dumping your prayers onto actual paper. Put the phone downnnnnnn and open your Bible!!! I promise it will solve all your problems 🙏🙏🙏

The whole 4th grade class had to pick an inventor/creator to do a poster on and then dress up and speak about 5 sentences about telling their contributions and Gunner picked Jesus 🥰
the original creator of the entire universe! yall im so proud! He was testifying to all the younger kids/classes that walked through their room and other parent attendees. I am soooo stinking proud that of all the inventors/creators he could have chosen, he picked Jesus all on his own 🥹🥹🥹 we had soooo much fun working on this poster together!

This year I started doing a monthly rewards system to “earn” things the boys just randomly ask for. I was soooo tired of just giving them stuff or not having enough chores to go around (bc I would rather just do most things around the house bc no one does them right lol)

Soooooo enter the scripture rewards system: each month is assigned a scripture or passage for them to memorize. As we are sitting around the dinner table, we each practice the verses together and then as the month goes on they start saying them by themselves. If they are able to complete the scriptures by memory on the last day they can “earn” something from their lists…example- Gunner had been wanting a new iPad case-> so last month when he was able to say the Lord’s Prayer by memory, he earned this.
Brady wanted his rods taken to cabelas and re-lined. Soooo that was his reward.

Next month, Gunner is wanting football gloves, and Brady’s wanting something else fishing related lol
This month they’re working on Ephesians 6:10-11.

my angel boy lovesssss to fish 🎣 like he’s still obsessed and it’s soo cute!
I literally know nothing, so he’s self taught by YouTube and the nice men who work at Cabela’s 🤷‍♀️
But I’m so happy that this is all he really wants to do… I mean what a great hobby?! He says all he wants to do when he’s older is be a fisherman 🥰🥰🥰

I wish there was kids fishing club or fishing camp for the summer where he could just hangout with other kids who love it too or even other fishermen to learn more about it 🤷‍♀️

The weather was beautiful today! A little taste of summer and I got to whip out my bike with the boys and ride around the neighborhood a few times and it was glorious!

I’m still in love with this impulse Amazon purchase from last fall… the cutest vintage light blue bike with a basket is the perfect leisurely activity to participate in with your kiddies 💙

Made some donuts with my youngest son, Gunner tonight 🫶

This is how I used to make donuts with my mama when I was a little girl so this was very nostalgic for me getting to do with Gunner. Idk why it’s taken me this long to actually make these with him 🙃

They’re super easy to make and delicious 🤤

Recipie:
Pillsbury can of biscuits - poke a hole and morph into the donut shape
Vegetable oil (about and inch or two in a skillet or pot)
When oil hot place biscuits in pan, then after a few minutes flip and get the other side
While it’s frying make the cinnamon sugar mixture.
I didn’t measure this mixture but I would say a cup or so of sugar then about a 1/4 c cinnamon. (Add more to your discretion, we love cinnamon so we added more)
As soon as both sides are toasted, immediately drop donut into the cinnamon sugar mixture & coat both sides. Once coated let cool for about 10 mins or so.
Repeat with all the biscuit/donuts.
Good luck trying to eat just one 🤗
