I have done this thing in the past where I “save” a specific top/dress/handbag/etc. for a special event because I love how it makes me feel (OR that it’s *too much* for everyday life)….but you know what ends up happening? I barely wear it!

Which is a shame because clothes that you buy are meant to be worn — not to be pretty display pieces in your closet ‼️

So yes, I’ll wear my favourite items (even if I’m seeing nobody that day), but I also try to focus on buying items that I know I’ll feel comfortable wearing in both casual and more formal settings!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m about to go grab a coffee & emotionally vomit into my journal (in style) 😎🤣

the dollar store is such a great place to go for crafting goodies — you really never know what you’ll find that can easily be transformed into something extra special!

this @umbra_design tissue box cover stopped me in my tracks….it’s cute as is, but all I could think when my eyes landed on it was, “this needs to be a gingerbread house” 🙏

supplies I used:
➡️ brown acrylic paint for the gingerbread look (I did 2 layers)
➡️ white paint markers from @posca_usa for icing details
➡️ @modpodgecrafts to seal everything in

I was worried about doing this DIY because my sewing skills are pretty nonexistent, but this project is very forgiving for beginners (the imperfections just add a special handmade touch, right?! 🤪)!

there’s plenty of “felt sewing” tutorials on social media that teach you the basics, step-by-step….I found those really helpful to watch before I got started.
