These past few months, I’ve been learning to sit with the uncertainty that comes with being a contractor.

Building @mull.muse has been one of my greatest teachers and a reflection of how I move through life itself. I’ve learned to go with my flow, working alongside small businesses and collaborators that contribute to my professional and personal growth. Still, as much as I tend to myself to avoid creative and emotional burnout, there are always those days that test my balance.

This past year especially, I’ve received advice from some that made me second-guess my path — whether I’m truly doing what’s best for me and if my choices reflect my long-term goals. But every time I step back, I’m reminded that the creative industry looks different now. We’re paving our own way — taking risks, building opportunities, and redefining what “success” looks like.

Security isn’t what it used to be. For our generation, it’s not just a steady paycheck — it’s freedom. It’s emotional safety. It’s the ability to do meaningful work with people who lead with kindness, passion, and empathy — where mindful communication and drive are the foundation of collaboration.

At the end of the day, this journey isn’t about certainty — it’s about trust. Trusting that what’s meant for you won’t pass you by. And that is what keeps me going.
