When I turned 16 one of the first places I drove myself was to Old Navy to get my first job. I worked there until I went to college. It was a good job and the discount was awesome because it worked at Gap and Banana Republic too but we had to sell Old Navy credit cards.

No one ever said yes. Or if they did they’d get denied. One time I helped a nice lady untangle jewelry for an hour to get a necklace for her granddaughter and she asked if she could do anything for me and I said get an Old Navy card so she did. I was so excited!

I went back to the same store in Southlake recently where I worked 16 years ago to make some returns. Well, they got me with all the cute linen so I ended up buying more than I was returning. The cute girl at the checkout gave me the credit card spiel and for some reason I said “sure, why not!”

I told her my first job was at that exact store and asked her if selling cards was still a big deal and she said “not really” 🤣 …oh well! It saved me $100!

Here’s how I styled my holiday garland from Michael’s for Christmas 🎄I wrapped the garland I got last year together with what I got this year and used jute and ribbon leftover from my wedding dress to add these pretty white bows. I added some little nails along the bottom of the handrail to stop it from slipping since I wanted to do arches.

I used 4 6ft. Shimmery Juniper Garland by Ashland and 4 6ft. Silver Berry Garland by Ashland

- Rug big enough to catch dirt from front and garage door ($45)
- Painted door black ($10 gallon of oops paint)

- Had alarm panel moved from behind couch to by door ($150)
Total $382

Just like everything else in our new build, there was nothing *wrong* with this area… except maybe the weird placement of the alarm panel in the living room. It was just so boring to me. Now I love how the door pops and matches our couches and other dark gray accents. We take our shoes off at the door but the rug still really helps with dirt getting tracked in.
