My 5-4-3-2-1 Travel Capsule Wardrobe Method Adaptation for a 7-Day Trip A real carry-on capsule for a real life kind of trip. Visiting family. Casual days. Comfortable clothes. This is my 5-4-3-2-1 approach in practice. I packed 5 tops, 4 bottoms, 3 outer layers, 2 pairs of shoes and 1 more pair of shoes. (You see how I made the numbers work for me? I use This method as a framework and adjust it to the needs of the trip.) All of my tops and bottoms can be worn together creating a seemingly endless number of outfits. The black ponte knit pants are a staple. They don’t wrinkle and hold their shape, plus, they dress up or down making them one of the most versatile pieces in my capsule. The jeans may be on of the best dupes out there…they look like my favotrite designer brand at a fraction of the cost. These wide leg pants are the softest sweats but they sure look cute dressed up with flats and a cute top. Of course I like to add a little color and patterns to my neutral pieces. I chose my favorite softest cozy sweater, a sporty jacket for casual walks and gym runs, and the sweater blazer instantly elevates everything it’s paired with. How many outfits did I make? There are too many to count, but at least 30. And the best part…it all fit in my carry-on suitcase! (And of course I packed toiletries, underwear, pajamas, but I’ll spare you those details!) Just a few small strategies can make a big difference when you’re trying to pack lighter. LTKOver40 LTKTravel
