We are not perfect but he is the calm to my storm. You know we never had a religious traditional church wedding but we didn’t feel the need to. Our love was more than a symbol or a piece of jewelry that needed to be bragged about. I had just given birth to my baby and he spent those weeks taking care of me doing anything and everything he could do to make sure I was comfortable. He listened oh he listened to every heart break, every moment I felt unseen and reminded me of my beauty. He thought me the true meaning of being a family and being present for one another including our kids. We got married at the San Francisco City hall. The people who cared to be there were there and for a moment in my life I didn’t question anything. I knew I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. I knew without a doubt that this was my person.
