👻 Today, I’m showing you how you can DIY this super chic McGee and Co. look-a-like ghost garland!
I’m usually not a fan of air dry clay, but after tons of research, I found this one that made these so fun to create. Trust me, it actually works! ✨
This was the first “craft” in years my kids (teens) have done with me 🥹

I will have the clay and the cutters linked for you in my LTK.

Here’s a quick rundown of how to make your own spooky garland:

Roll clay into a ball.

Flatten to about 1/4 inch thick.

Use a cookie cutter (I found a 2-pack—check the video to see both shapes!) to punch out ghosts.

Make a hole for string, not too close to the edge (big enough for two loops!).

Air dry per package directions.

**At this point you can paint, clear coat, but I didn’t.

Sharpie on desired ghost faces!

Cut sturdy string (McGee used black cord, I used cooking string!).

Thread string, starting about 6 inches in for side length (tape ends for easier threading!), looping through the back of the ornament and around again.

Measure about 4 inches between each ghost.

Okay listen… I never thought I’d be the girl recommending faux flowers. But these fall mums?? Shockingly realistic. I popped them in a few porch baskets and even up close, they look so good. Zero maintenance, all the cozy fall vibes. 🍂

🕯️ Scandal at @Bath & Body Works: I found a candle that smells exactly like Catholic mass. 🙏
At first, I couldn’t put my finger on it — just knew it felt warm and strangely comforting. Took it home, and my daughter said:
“That smells like church.” ⛪️
She was right.

I also used my fave, self-adhesive hooks to hang them, and they are a game-changer! They don't mess up your mantel or wall and allow you to easily adjust and re-style your decor on a whim, to get it just right. I have used these for years on mantels and stair rails.

🍂Look at that detail on the print! It is from Amazon Homemade and the price is amazing. I love how the frame holder gives it some height. It’s one of @McgeeandCo Bestseller’s, and their Tess lamp here is such a statement piece! I have linked another option in the same style for lower price also.
The baskets are huge and they have so many tones of twood in them they blend with ease. I have had these over a year. They have held up to so many shoes being tossed in.
