1. I don’t have kids, and most likely never will — and I’m finally at peace with that. It’s not a lack, it’s a choice. One that took years to fully own without guilt or shame. 2. I’ve mastered dissociation — it’s been my silent survival skill. When emotions felt too heavy to carry, I checked out. And honestly? It kept me alive. But now, I’m learning how to stay present. 3. Productivity became my drug. My escape. My socially acceptable way of avoiding my feelings, my grief, my pain. If I stay busy enough, maybe I won’t have to feel it. But the truth always catches up. 4. I have no patience for people who don’t take accountability. It’s the biggest turn-off. We’re too grown to still be blaming everyone else. 5. And yes — I still care what people think about me. I wish I didn’t. But I do. I’m working on it, slowly unlearning the need for approval. 6. I haven’t fully grieved my father or my sister. I buried that pain beneath a packed schedule. Being busy made it easier to avoid breaking down. 7. I don’t always practice what I preach. That disconnect chips away at my self-respect, even when I’m doing my best. &. I may come across like I’ve got it all together, but truth is, some days I feel like I’m barely holding it together. Behind the scenes, it’s messy. 9. Trust doesn’t come easy for me. I want to believe in people — but I’ve been burned. So I keep my guard up. 10. And that TM meditation practice I swore I’d stick to this year? I’ve completely failed. I hate that I’ve let it go — again. These are my truths. They’re not pretty, but they’re mine.
