Raising your curtain rod and choosing an extra long curtain creates height in a space that may not have it. Polished nickel finishes are always your friend—they’re classic and timeless! And when choosing tile go with something timeless. I love marble, checkerboard, and anything neutral. And for extra texture and warmth, don’t forget to utilize baskets. Plus, they are functional for all those forgotten items!

Flanking either end of the table with an upholstered seat creates dimension, and provides a soft spot on either side. I love utilizing more family-friendly options on the side—wood dining chairs for example that are easy to clean! Second, I almost never match wood tones. There is an effortless beauty that comes from mixing finishes and styles. This will elevate your home! Finally, if you can avoid it, don’t get a matching set!
