what I DON’T wear as a mom

1. jeans that don’t fit- i’m not waiting for my body to snap back and fit in my pre-pregnancy jeans. and i’m not avoiding jeans because mine don’t fit. i’m buying new jeans. jeans that fit my budget and my body.

2. anything i have to adjust. if it’s too low cut, too short, too uncomfortable then it’s too much.

3. bras that make me miserable- postpartum mamas know that the girls are different pre and post pregnancy. push up bra? who is she? a bra thats uncomfortable? don’t know her.

4. shoes i can’t chase toddlers in- this is tough for a girl who lived in heels for years and years. but chasing after toddlers means i can’t be in stilettos, so i’ve found some really cute, comfortable sneakers i love. a white sneaker is my go-to and goes with any outfit.

MOM ADVICE: for all of the girl mamas 🤎

i have two little girls and we spend most of our summer days at our pool club. the pool gets so busy on beautiful days, which is so much fun, but can also be nerve wracking as i watch my kids swim amongst so many other little kids.

i took advice from my mom (who has 3 girls and spent her summers up at the pool with us when we were little) and she told me to put big, bright bows in my girls hair and i could spot them immediately. so that’s exactly what I did. and let me tell you the difference it made. i put their hair up in high buns and put a big, bright bow right on top. i am able to spot them from anywhere in the pool. most girl moms save bows for any other time (which totally makes sense!) but all girl moms need to know this tip!

tw: drowning. drowning is silent and can happen in 30 seconds. doing this little hack has helped calm some of my anxiety of having my little kids up at the pool. we do swim lessons, practice as much swim safety as we can, and we put bows in to help us too. my girls know they’re not going up to the pool unless they’re wearing a bow. it’s a non-negotiable rule.
