Honestly, I’m in love with these newborn nights. I know it’s not the same for everyone but I’m fine with the wake ups and I LOVE our quiet moments together when the rest of the world is asleep. I’ve never had consistent sleep anyway and always worked late nights so this type of schedule isn’t too far off my regular life haha I thought it might be interesting for you all to get a look into what my life is like with a newborn 🩷 It is such a beautiful and special time for me and I just love it all so much.

OK so one thing I have found is that THE BEST clothes for newborns are the 2 way zip footie pajamas. Nothing is worse than having to close 2000 snaps or buttons. I love this onesie from #Carter’s 🥰 Also, that hatch scale in the background is a MUST HAVE!

So as you guys know, I’ve been switching all of my products and everything in my home over to the cleanest of clean, eliminating as many micro plastics and toxins as possible from my daily routine. I’ve had some issues with postpartum hair loss as well as my alopecia areata, which is pretty standard after having a baby. I was thinking I should upgrade my hairbrush, and as I was thinking it, my hairbrush literally broke in half in my hand. I had seen this one before and honestly thought, why would a hairbrush cost $78? but when my brush broke, I took it as a sign and I ordered this one and let me tell you it is worth the $78. The pins are stainless steel, which I really like because I don’t like using the boar or animal bristles and they’re designed in a way to stimulate blood flow to the scalp, which is great for thinning hair. When you run the brush of your hair, it feels incredible. I highly highly recommend!

As we shift into spring I try to harness the forward momentum of the season and use the energy to tune into strengthening my intentions for the year ahead.

One of the ways I’m creating more clarity and balance this season is leaning into a more analog lifestyle in a couple of ways. I’m really not one for all the consumerist bullshit that is rampant nowadays. You surely don’t need 1 million products lying around. However, I have found that a few intentional purchases that I’ll use regularly can upgrade my process.

Here are a few things I’ve grabbed and how I’m putting them to use:

1. An old school alarm clock: I’ve turned the bedroom into a no phone zone. When we get ready to head to bed we leave our phones in another room to charge and so this clock will come in handy. “What do I do if I can’t sleep!?” Stare into the abyss and think about your life, like in the old days lol. I’ll leave it on the lower shelf of my nightstand so the light isn’t abrasive and the time (which I rarely bother with lol) won’t irritate me.
2. In the name of an upgraded sleep environment I’m switching to organic cotton bedding. I believe superior rest equals superior life because recovery is crucial to excellence. To me organic fibers feel better on my skin and are more breathable which helps with temperature regulation while you sleep.
3. I will be using (and have always used) a paper planner. I have found this one that I like because it allows me to have all my schedule laid out and also has designated spots to right out things I care to create or manifest so it kill two birds with one stone. Digital may be convenient but in terms of creation, pen to paper will always take the trump card.
