Do we work on lessons over the weekend? Sometimes! Its’s all about making it feel like play. 🌈

Today we matched words with vocabulary coins. He read the word and searched for the matching coin—like a little reading treasure hunt! Everything was magnetic, so picking up the coins and letters at the end was half the fun.

The click-and-connect tray even helped hold the pieces along the edges, which turned into the perfect little workspace. Added a rainbow to make it extra festive and suddenly reading practice didn’t feel like work at all.

Learning through play is always the goal around here. 📚✨

When reading isn’t feeling as fun, turning it into a game can make all the difference! 🎉📚

We used this interactive bingo-style reading game today. He flipped the cards, searched for the word on the pop mats, then popped while he segmented and blended the CVC word.

To keep track of how many words he read, I set out a 20 frame and some loose parts. My goal was 20 words… but after filling the tray he didn’t want to stop and ended up reading 10 more! 🙌

Little moments like this remind me how powerful play-based learning can be.

There’s something so powerful about turning a simple worksheet into a hands-on learning experience. Using @plantoys.usa numbers to physically build combinations helps little learners see and feel how numbers work together to make 10.

Today we explored:
➕ 1 + 9
➕ 2 + 8
➕ 3 + 7
➕ 4 + 6
➕ 5 + 5

We added a festive twist with clovers to count, move, and match. Manipulating real objects strengthens number sense, builds fine motor skills, and makes math feel like play.

Hands-on learning at home doesn’t have to be complicated and doesn’t have to look pretty. I just like it!

I decided to bring a workbook page to life by adding a hands-on twist to building, sounding out, and writing -ck phonogram words, along with a fun search-and-find activity. I told him that once he was finished, he could clean up all the pieces with his wand—and it made for such an exciting ending to the lesson.

An arctic math lesson for our Orca loving son. He was able to grab what he wanted from the tray and add them together to make 5. We were also able to sound out the word arctic. A win, win!

This Polar Playland kit from @teenietotsplayshop helped us bring this together so easily. I just added in our own orcas and polar friends from @roses_and_wellness. Hoping to keep math enjoyable, as it’s not my favorite subject!

As our oldest started Kindergarten and began spending some days a week away from home, I wanted a simple way to stay connected without added distractions.
