Today I turn 66.

I’ve loved fashion for as long as I can remember. What I wear has changed over the years - and so have I - but the fun of getting dressed never has.

Some days I want polished. Some days casual. Sometimes feminine. Sometimes a little edgy. For me, style over 60 is about having the freedom to be all those things.

If there’s one thing I know at 66, it’s this: I’m not interested in dressing for my age. I’m interested in dressing like me.

And I’m still having a lot of fun figuring out exactly what that looks like. ❤️

One denim dress from the desk to dinner and beyond.. Here’s three ways to style this dress from @macys. Changing shoes and accessories can give you a completely different look!

A leather midi skirt might look like a statement piece, but it doesn’t have to have just one personality.

I styled the same skirt three completely different ways: feminine and refined, sleek and polished, and with a little Western influence.

That’s what I love about getting dressed. Sometimes it’s not about buying something new, it’s about changing the pieces you put around what you already have.

It’s not IF you can wear it. It’s HOW.

Where should a midi skirt actually hit on your leg?

The answer isn't exactly the same for everyone and sometimes moving the hem just an inch or two can make a surprising difference.

The key is to look at where the skirt hits your calf.

If the hem cuts across the widest part, it can visually shorten the leg.

For me, the sweet spot is where my calf begins to narrow but your ideal midi skirt length will depend on your own proportions.

That's why I always say: don't just look at the skirt when you're trying one on. Look at your leg.

And if a midi you love feels almost right, don't give up on it. A small alteration may be all it needs.

Yes, this dress really is under $80 - and it’s perfect. That’s because it’s from @Chicwish !

I love everything about the design of this dress, starting with the color. It does come in burgundy as well, but I was drawn to the navy. The neckline and waist definition is so flattering. The fuller skirt and pockets make it the perfect party dress.

Sizing: I am 5’ 3” and while I don’t usually wear petites, the petite in this dress fit be better, partially because of the full skirt. I didn’t want it to overwhelm me. I also sized up to a Medium from my usual Small since it was a petite. That’s made the sizing perfect for me.

The outfit is all centered around the crocheted flowers on the sweater. Because it is rather bold, it really needs to be thoughtfully put together.

Because your eye is drawn to the flowers (and that’s where I want them to go), I made everting else minimal as to not distract. That includes everything- my jewelry, shoes AND handbag.

There are still several weeks left of summer outfits, even thought fall fashion is calling!

I’ve curated a collection of colored blazers in both summer and fall colors (including this great green color). Pick the color that you love and make it great! A colored blazers might be one of the most versatile pieces in your closet.

Today's starting point was these bold polka dot pants.

They're definitely a statement piece, but I love pairing them with a simple black top so the pants can do all the talking.

Sometimes the pieces that seem the hardest to wear end up becoming your favorites once you find the right combination.

If you're shopping for a dress right now, don't just shop for summer.

I bought this dress specifically with the transition to fall in mind. Because at this point in the season, I want anything new I buy to work now and later.

For me, that means looking at three things: color, fabric and versatility.
The print and lightweight fabric work perfectly for summer with sandals and sunglasses, but the deeper colors can easily move into early fall. Add a denim jacket, sneakers and a richer accessory, and the same dress suddenly feels completely different.

My late-summer shopping test? Can I wear it for the weather I'm dressing for now AND style it for the season that's coming next?

If the answer is yes, that's a dress with considering.

I'll admit it...when I first heard capri pants were making a comeback, I wasn't convinced either.

But once I started styling them, I realized something...

It wasn't the capri pants that looked dated; it was the way we were wearing them.

Instead of defaulting back to the way you used to wear them, consider this:

✔️ Look for a pair that hits around the middle of your calf, not at the widest part.

✔️ If you're petite, a high-rise style can help create the illusion of longer legs.

✔️ Both high-rise and mid-rise styles work for tall women. A wide-leg style also looks great on tall women as they can handle the extra volume.

✔️ If you're trying capris again for the first time, start with a monochromatic outfit. It's an easy way to make the look feel polished and modern.

✔️ Don't overlook your shoes! Pointed flats, slingbacks, and low heels instantly update the look.
