Rust has always been one of my favorite colors…but most people only think of it for fall.

And I get it! iI feels like a fall color.

But here’s the shift: It’s not about the color, it’s about how you style it.

Think:
Lighter fabrics
Softer combinations
More contrast

That’s what makes it work for summer.

I actually just updated my most-read blog post with all new summer outfit ideas for rust (this has been one of my most requested topics!)

If you’ve ever wondered how to wear this color beyond fall, it’s all there.

✨ It’s not what you wear—it’s how you wear it.

Please stop shopping for your shorts based on your age. There are so many more factors that go into looking great in shorts over 50.

For me, a 4” - 5” inch inseam is my sweet spot, based on my body shape. I can help you decide what’s best for you in my blog post.

Here’s what I’ll be wearing this summer!

#LTKootd #LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal
We don’t need to use maxi dresses as a way to cover up over 50. Instead, think of them as a stylish option, that also gives some coverage.

Look for waist definition, an open neckline and the right length to make your maxi dresses this summer absolutely perfect!

#LTKootd #LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal
One simple dress…styled two ways.

A little more polished with a block heel and structured bag.

A little more casual with sneakers and raffia accessories.

I love pieces like this for summer because they’re easy, versatile, and don’t require much overthinking.

And yes…those are my amazing pink ON sneakers. I love them!!💕

#LTKootd #LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal
Stripes are a subtle way to celebrate the holiday, especially if they are red, white and blue!

Here’s a few outfit ideas that you can probably put together from things already in your closet!

#LTKootd #LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal
Who doesn’t love a linen set, especially a menswear best and pants look.

I’ve had my set for a while, so I’ve linked to several similar sets in different price points. It’s a great summer look that you can wear all season. Perfect for travel, graduations parties, showers and more.
Bracelets are the perfect finishing touch for all your summer outfits.

There are so many styles to pick from: texture like wood, enamel, resin.

Cuffs are a simple way to add a statement piece to a monochrome outfit.

And, of course, a simple gold or silver bracelet is perfect for everyday.

I’ve curated all different styles for you to find the one that best suits you.

#LTKootd #LTKSeasonal #LTKOver40
For my fellow over 50 gals - it’s not CAN you wear it over 50, it’s HOW. We can wear anything over 50, we just might want to make a few subtle tweaks.

Like going sleeveless. I hear from a lot of women who “hate their arms”, but it might be your top, not your arms.. I am sharing my styling tips on what to look for whenever shopping for sleeveless tops.

#LTKSeasonal #LTKOver40
Some outfits just feel special the moment you put them on.

This is one of those looks. It’s soft, feminine, and effortlessly polished without feeling overdone.

And while it looks like a perfectly styled outfit, it’s actually two separate pieces, which is what makes it so versatile.

The top pairs beautifully with denim or a tailored pant for a more everyday look.

The skirt can be styled with something simple such as a tee, a lightweight sweater, even a blouse and instantly feels different.

That’s how you create a wardrobe that works for you. It’s pieces that can come together and stand on their own.

✨ Because the best outfits aren’t just beautiful, they give you options.

Thank you to @chicwish for this beautiful look 🤍

Happy Mother’s Day! 🌸

A short tribute to my mom, who instilled my love of fashion in me. Going “clothes shopping” was always our favorite thing to do together. We both loved it.

I really do still remember the first time she let me pick my own clothes out of the Sears Catalog (IYKYK). I was so excited. I must have dogeared 20 pages before decided on the pieces fhar were “in the budget”. I still love printed catalogs today!

I miss her every day, but I always feel her presence, especially in my closet 😍

I can’t stop talking about this top from WHBM - and this is NOT a sponsored post!

This top checks all the boxes for a going out top:

1. Chic + Unique
2. Doesn’t cling/easy to wear
3. Doesn’t have to be tucked to look modern
4. Alluring without showing a lot of skin
5. Classic black for all occasions

There’s three different ways I would style this top:

1. With the white pants and white accessories for a daytime brunch look. Add some nude sandals.

2. With dark wash jeans, oversized earrings and an interesting black bag - think studs or fringe. Perfect for a concert look. Black booties or heeled mules to round it out.

3. For a dinner date I would throw on a pair of black trousers and add a bold bracelet stack and carry a silver or gold clutch to match my jewelry metal. A strappy heeled sandal to keep the dressier look.
Yesterday I shared a reel about why I love peplum tops. Here are more for you to consider - and swipe to see my exact top.

#LTKootd #LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal
Peplum is one of those style that people either love…or avoid completely.

And usually, it’s because of how it used to look.

The exaggerated, overly structured peplum from years ago could feel like it added volume in all the wrong places. But today’s versions are much softer and easier to wear.

Here’s how to think about it:

What peplum does well:
It creates shape without clinging. That’s why it can be some flattering, especially if you prefer not to wear anything fitted through the midsection.

What it Works Best For:
* If you carry weight through your midsection, a subtle peplum can gently skim over that area.
* If you feel a bit “straight” through the waist, it can create the illusion of curves
* If you are fuller through the bust. It can help balance proportions.

What to Look For:
* A subtle flare, not overly structured or dramatic
* A softer fabric that moves (not stiff or bulky)
* A seam that hits at your natural waist; not too high, not too low
* Clean lines without too much volume at the hips

What to Avoid:
* Very stiff or exaggerated peplums
* Styles that flare out too far
* Anything that feels costume-y, instead of modern

The goal isn’t volume, it’s gentle shape

When done right, peplum is one of the easiest ways to create definition, without feeling tight or uncomfortable.

I’ve curated a collection of my favorite peplum tops this season

A shorts set is a great way to elevate your shorts look - and this one is under $50!

It’s a great look for graduation parties, brunch, date night and more. It just makes your shorts look a little more polished!

#LTKSeasonal #LTKootd #LTKOver40
Do you dread wearing white pants? Is it the fit? The fabric? I cover both in my latest TV segment. I have the link to the segment on my website.

But here I am linking to all the outfits shown in the segment highlights.

#LTKSeasonal #LTKootd #LTKOver40
Let’s be honest - we’ll still want to wear black in summer. So, let’s find a way to lighten it up and make it feel more like summer! Fabric and texture are a great way to do hair that!

#LTKOver40 #LTKootd #LTKSeasonal
Because sometimes you just want the look to feel “pretty and feminine”.

Lilac is my favorite color so I was immediately drawn to this dress. It will be perfect for a Mother’s Day brunch! I’ve had my bag for years, but I am linking several similar looks.

#LTKOver40 #LTKMothersDay #LTKSeasonal
Have you heard for leather tape?

It’s a great thing to have on hand - because “when you need it, you need it” (and it’s under $20). I like having these go-to hacks in my tool kit!

#LTKdayinmylife #LTKOver40 #LTKgrwm
As a follow up to my video, here are some great statement belts. I’ve captured my four favorite styles; patterns, texture, shapes/details and color!

These are all a variety in price from Free People to Amazon!

#LTKWorkwear #LTKootd #LTKOver40
A statement belt is a perfect piece for the “third piece rule”. It takes an outfit from ordinary to elevated!

I’ve linked my four belts but I added a bunch more fun choices for you!
A quick tip to make your outfits a little lighter and a little more modern!

It’s simple, but it makes a big difference!

#LTKootd #LTKOver40 #LTKWorkwear
“Most underrated” might be an exaggeration, but you still want a short sleeve sweater in your closet, especially right now.

I’ve linked my sweaters plus a few more that I like, hope you find one that’s perfect for you!

#LTKWorkwear #LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal
It’s too soon to push denim to the back of the closet - but we can lighten it up a bit for Spring. Here are three easy ideas for you!

My necklace is from a special brand, Tagua. They are such a unique brand that I didn’t even want to try to link something similar, but you can check them out on their website! Their pieces are made in Ecquador!

#LTKootd #LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal
I love navy all year long, but even more so for Spring. For this time of year, i really love a classic look - gold buttons, paired with white - i think you know what i am tlakong about!

#LTKootd #LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal
Butter yellow isn’t going anywhere! And I am happy about that!

I bought my pants last year and have been on the hunt for the perfect top - and I found it from WHBM! What I love about this top, besides its flattering style, are the colors.

I’ve heard a lot of my friends and clients say “I can’t wear yellow” even though they like it. Here is one way to add it to your wardrobe. Putting the most of the bitter yellow in your bottoms and add a multi. Plot top that has more of the colors that are flattering to you! And you can pick your accent color from the top, as I did with my sage green handbag.

"Trendy At Any Age” is a new column at the new Pretty magazine and I am excited to announce that I will be the columnist for the magazine’s new feature!

If you’ve been around for a while, then you might already know that this topic is not new for me. My niece, Jen and I ran “The Harper Girls” blog for three years all based on “How to Wear it At Any Age”. So I am excited to bring it back - as I was to film a reel with Jen again!

Pretty magazine is a brand new quarterly digital magazine covering fashion, beauty, home and more. You can sign up for a free subscription at https://pretty-magazine.com/

I have been guilty of this in the past! Thinking a matching set can only be worn together- but it can be so much more!

You can make so many more outfits when you separate the pieces (especially great for travel). This set, from Amazon, is a great travel fabric and the set, itself, is just fun. I will wearing this on repeat this summer!

#LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal #LTKFestival
I love that polka dots are so popular this season - and brown and white are my absolute favorite!

All my key pieces are available and I am adding a few extras for you! You can start wearing these now and keep wearing them through early fall!

#LTKootd #LTKSeasonal #LTKOver40
I just bought these this week, and they are all still available…for now!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you already know how much I love brown - including I the spring and summer. So these brown pieces were a must for me.

And I love these pleated shorts. They are not overly pleated, so they don’t add much bulk, but I love their dressier feel.

#LTKOver40 #LTKootd #LTKSeasonal
This week I shared my TV segment on “Debunking Four Fashion Myths Over 50”. So I wanted to share that I practice what I preach!

First up: Color! I love wearing color, especially for Sprinf. Lavender just happens to be my favorite color so these pants we a must-have.

Second; Going sleeveless! I am always too hot to not go sleeveless in this summer. But as I mentioned in the segment, if you are uncomfortable with your arms, add a “distracting piece”, like I’ve done with my scarf. The scarf brings attention to my collarbone and away from my arms!

My green and lilac top is old out, but I did find some other great options!

#LTKootd #LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal
I’m debunking four fashion myths over 50 - and all the looks are shoppable! See the highlights of my segment in one minute!

#LTKdayinmylife #LTKOver40 #LTKootd
Let’s talk about these amazing pink pieces from Gap Factory! I love them all - they are the perfect be pink for me! And maybe for you, too!

I am certified in Color Analysis, so if you are interested in that, contact me!

#LTKSeasonal #LTKootd #LTKOver40
Neutral outfits sometimes get a reputation for being boring.

But one of the easiest styling tricks stylists use is monochrome dressing: wearing one color head to toe.

It instantly makes an outfit look more intentional and polished.

The secret is mixing textures so the look still has interest. In this case, a satin bomber paired with a soft jersey dress keeps the outfit from feeling flat.

Sometimes the simplest outfits are the most sophisticated.

#LTKOver40 #LTKWorkwear #LTKootd
I’ve talked about the fact that I will shop anywhere. I believe there are great finds in every store - you just have to look.

Like this seersucker separates from Walmart. I don’t shop at Walmart often, I am a fan of their Free Assembly brand, especially since it’s overseen by fashion designer Brandon Maxwell. These pieces are so affordable and great quality. The fabric is a great weight and the blazer is fully lined.

I love this look for early Spring - it’s even a great Easter outfit!

#LTKootd #LTKSeasonal #LTKOver40
This blouse from Loft is about as close to perfect as you can get. Crisp, white cotton, classic style but the gold buttons add just a little something extra. Makes it so easy to wear it to work, brunch, errands - anywhere you want to wear it!
