Does this time of year make anybody else want to curl up and re-read or re-watch Harry Potter? I found these beautiful books and plan to read them with my daughters. I’m sad they aren’t finishing the series. And I’m hoping to re-read the series soon on my own. I’ve only read it once. 🙈 Let me know if you have any Harry Potter Plans this year! ✨Bookish Galentine's Day Gift Idea✨

Here is another fun bookish gift idea. I have to say I'm slightly obsessed with how these turned out, and although these are the perfect Galentine's Day gift I really think you could use them for any occasion. They would be great for book club too.

I found these little suitcases that actually wheel around and are the perfect size for annotation supplies and a few other things. Below is what I included in mine.

🩷 Heart under eye patches for a little self-care Sunday
🤍 Valentine's chapstick - I thought this was cute, but you could do any kind of lip balm
🩷 Annotation tabs - I tried to stick to Valentine's Day colors, but you could do any theme here
🤍 Heart transparent sticky notes because love
🩷 Pen and highlighter
🤍 Bookish stickers from @paper_and_glow and @myblendedbookshelf - you can never have too many and look at how cute these are 😍
🩷 Valentine's Day sucker and heart chocolates - any candy would work

I found this cute little bow sticker and stuck it on the front too. You could also throw in a gift card. I put a little crinkle paper in the bottom and put the pen and highlighter at an angle to fit.

Don't forget to save this for later and send this to someone who needs gift inspiration.

🖤 Valentine's Day Gift Idea, but make it dark🖤

If you've followed me for a while you know I love a good gift basket, & I LOVE pink. But you might not know that I also love black. Plus I'm still in my dark romance era, so I wanted to do a twist for this Valentine's gift basket idea.

I thought it would be fun to do a little black heart/dark romance (anti Valentine's Day?) themed basket. I kept mine rated G, but the possibilities are endless (black furry handcuffs anyone?). I think this could also be a fun Galentines gift or a gift for a single friend or you know a gift for yourself because you deserve nice things. 😂

I included a mix of items from some of my fave shops and other places. I'll put some codes below in case you want to grab anything.

Here's what I put in my black heart Valentine's Day basket

🖤 Black heart "Love Me Not" nails I can't get over how cute these are. They also have them in red if you want something more traditional

✨Sips and Spines✨

Today I did a mix of vampire books I've read and enjoyed with some I'm looking forward to reading soon, and I paired them with a pomegranate margarita. To give you the vampire vibes without having to go to the blood bank.

✨Pomegranate Margarita✨

🩸1 ½ ounces 100% pomegranate juice
🩸1 ½ ounces tequila
🩸1 ounce Triple Sec
🩸½ ounce lime juice
🩸½ ounce simple syrup
🩸Salt for the rim (optional) - I used Himalayan Pink Salt

Rim glass with lime juice and then roll the edge in salt. Fill cup with ice and set to the side. Put the rest of the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain drink into rimmed cup. You can garnish with lime slice, orange slice, pomegranate, and/or rosemary.

✨Pomegranate Marg Mocktail✨

🩸1 ½ ounces 100% pomegranate juice
🩸1 ounce Orange juice
🩸½ ounce lime juice
🩸½ ounce simple syrup
🩸1-3 ounces Sparkling Lemonade
🩸Salt for the rim (optional) - I used Himalayan Pink Salt

Put all ingredients into shaker with ice except for the sparkling lemonade. Shake well and pour into salt rimmed glass. Top with sparkling lemonade. I measured with my heart on this part. 😂 I think it was probably around 2 ounces give or take. Garnish the same as the margarita.

I originally planned to use a lemon lime soda, but realized we were out and I had some sparkling lemonade. So we tried that instead and it worked really well. I think you could easily get great results with lemon lime soda too. My youngest wasn't here today, but the 13 year old loved it. She said it's one of her favorites so far.

✨Books You Should Read This Fall✨

💭 What book feels like a Fall read to you?

To me these books are best read in Fall and maybe even Winter. I guess I like to just cuddle up under my blanket and read mostly depressing books in the Fall and Winter. 😂

🩵 The Nightingale @kristinhannahauthor the emotional damage this book inflicted on me is something I'll never get over. I still think about this book 5 years later. I will forever recommend it.
🩷 Shield of Sparrows @devneyperry when people go on a quest I feel like it should be Fall. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm still mad at Devney for making me wait for the next book. 😂 I want to tell you not to read it until the series is finished, but I'm obsessed with this book so I can't do that. Just read the book!
🩵 The Boys of Tommen Series Chloe Walsh I still haven't finished this series, but so if the books I've read so far have been fantastic. Since a decent amount of the story lines revolve around school/students I feel like it's another great Fall read. I'll admit it took me a while to get into Binding 13, but once I got sucked I was a goner. These characters will rip your heart out. And I'll forever love Mommy K and hope to be half as good as her as a mother.
🩷 The Things We Leave Unfinished @rebeccayarros WW2 fiction and Fall just go together for me. I will never be over this book. It's a dual timeline and the grandma's story is fantastic.
🩵 The Invisible Life of Addie Larue @veschwab I saw this book on BookTok last year and it lived up to the hype for me. I had tears streaming down my face and was just a wreck. And Luc...I don't know if I loved him or hated him. This book really made me think about life. If you love books that will make you think and ponder then I recommend checking this one out.

On Wednesdays we read pink....and in February we add in a red stack too. 🩷❤️🩷❤️

The new sprayed edge edition of The Hunger Games is being released soon, so I thought I’d recommend some of my favorite books that give Hunger Games Vibes.

The Grace Year - this is an underrated, dystopian novel. This book gave me Hunger Games and The Handsmaid's Tale vibes. Strong FMC who is 16 and trying to make the World a better place. I read this book almost 3 years ago and I still think about it.

The Selection - The Hunger Games meets The Bachelor. 300 years in the future. Strong FMC who is also 16 and ready to fight the rebels.

Divergent - Strong FMC also 16 (seeing a trend here 😂) who lives in post apocalyptic Chicago. And wants to dismantle the factions.

Red Rising - Strong MMC who lives on Mars, and is also 16. Infiltrates the elite society and begins his journey to initiate an uprising.

If you need a jolt of holiday spirit this book is for you. It can literally be read in one sitting...if your kids will leave you alone for that long. 🤣 This Christmas romance novella was fantastic. It had great banter, cute Christmas puns, and some things that would definitely get you on Santa’s naughty list.😉🌶️

This book gave small town Hallmark vibes with some spice. Emily was relatable and you rooted for her to find love. You could feel her struggle as a single mom, and knew she deserved more. Nick was sweet and exactly the MMC you look for in a holiday book. I loved the dual POV and reading their text messages to each.

I read this book in January this year, and I still think about it sometimes. If you love hockey romances then you definitely need to check it out. Even if you don’t like hockey books I think you might still love this one. It definitely gives spicy The Cutting Edge vibes (if you don’t get the movie reference stop what you’re doing right now and go watch it 🤣). This is a perfect winter read.
