Sometimes what I love on Pinterest does not translate directly to my closet. In this case, I flipped the inspo outfit and wore a polka dot top, and a light tannish brown maxi skirt on the bottom. Instead of booties, I wore knee-high suede boots in rich espresso brown, and of course I had to carry my trusty burgundy suede purse. Topped everything off with some easy gold and leather bracelets, and tortoiseshell earrings. I am 5‘9“ tall, usually wear a 2X in tops and an XL-18 on bottom, and a size 10 shoe. I am wearing an 18/20 on the top which is a stretchy polyester that does not wrinkle. yay! The skirt is an XL with an elastic waistband and side zip. Truthfully, if this color had come in a 1X it may have fit better, but the XL fits fine without being too tight. The boots were a great surprise because I do have wide calves and they still zipped up AND were comfortable even after wearing them for most of the day. Choose easy pieces in comfortable fabrics that you can throw on quickly and get out the door! The trick is choosing fabrics and textures that look nice, but aren’t fussy (this is not the time for fabrics that wrinkle easily!).

I wear an 18–20 in the top, I sized down to a 1X in the waterfall cardigan (which has convertible sleeves for a long look or rolled up), and size XL in the pants are plenty roomy. They are a tad bit long, so if you are between regular and petite, you may want to go with petite, and if you are normally between regular and tall, you can probably stick with regular length. I’m wearing a size 10 shoe, and I love that they are a combination of super comfy with a fleece lining, and sparkly jewels on the outside.
