NEW SERIES: HOW TO WEAR ✨

Because I hear some version of this ALL. THE. TIME…

“That’s so cute, but I could never wear that.”

Ummm…yes you can. 😂

So, I’m starting a new series showing you HOW TO WEAR the pieces you love but aren’t quite sure what the heck to do with.

First up: SHEER CROCHET. 🤎

What do you wear underneath it? How do you keep it cute without feeling naked? And how do you make it feel wearable in real life?

The quick answer. Let’s find a high waisted 🍑 short in the same shade of neutral as the skirt or dress. Next, a bralette. Here we have pattern in the oversized top so I kept it simple but feel free to add pattern or sparkle if you have a sheer poncho or drape instead. I find the undergarments blend more seamlessly when they are a close shade to the clothing. Skin tone matters too so there’s wiggle room for both.

The oversized top adds a little more coverage and I did a tiny tuck in the front to show a defined waist line so not to be swallowed by the clothes. Off the shoulder peep and some draping in the back makes it feel much more age appropriate.

Now, if this was a short dress with similar sheer characteristics I probably would have opted to wear an oversized blazer over the look. That would make me feel more comfortable walking in to a restaurant or party. Until I had a couple glasses of🍷and some good music playing then all bets are off. 🤣

Because I think I just found our next few outfits. 😂

I love this pajama inspired, light weight, coastal grandma meets animal print, meets tailored button down moment.

If it looks crazy, buy it! You don’t have to wear this set together either. You could pair the button down with jeans going in to fall and could also layer a big chunky sweater over the shorts and add some scrunch socks and loafers. Are people still wearing loafers lately? Either way. Easy work from home, go to class, weekend look.

I dressed it up here with strappy heels. Not sure if you can tell but they have a denim sole and tan colored straps to add a little contrast of color and dress the heel moment down. It’s really the little details for me that tell the story.

This is how Florida does summer to fall transitional dressing. I’m going to add a dark brown oversized, unstructured blazer to this and dark strappy heels. Wearing a size MEDIUM in the top I ordered and an XS in bottoms. Bottoms are HUGE!

I wore this set for the 4th of July and was having too much fun and got zero photos in it. It was too good not to bring back for an end of summer, last minute beach trip. I have the TOP in LARGE but that’s only because the other sizes were sold out and I loved it SO MUCH! I couldn’t wait for the restock. Seems like you could size up one in the top and the shorts are true to size. Sold separately. I’m wearing XS in bottoms.

It also comes in more colors and you can easily transition the darker colors for fall and winter and pair the top with jeans.

I have been WAITING to wear this little set and it’s so cute. The shorts can be worn low rise and the thick, cotton waistline is drawstring and adds shape and distinction to a simple design. The cut of the shorts is very flattering. I wish the button down was a little longer but it wasn’t a game changer.

I wore this set for the 4th of July and I have a bikini on underneath then and now. I have the top in Large and the bottoms in XS. I would have gotten the top in medium but it was all sold out and I wasn’t sure if they’d restock so I ordered the large to be sure. The shorts definitely run true to size but if you want a deeper V and super low side back size one up in the top. The easiest, chicest set of the summer in my opinion.
