Sankofa means “go back and get it”. That’s exactly what Anna did with her identity. Shes mixed and grew up only knowing one side of her family. After a death she got a chance to learn about the other side and that helped her fall more in love with herself. This good was a good portrayal of the phrase “if you don’t know where you’re from, you won’t know where you’re going”. It took me a few reads to really get into this one but after a few chapters I was hooked. This book was a blind buy from a book warehouse I discovered here in Houston. I prefer hardcovers but they can get pricey quick lol😅 So here’s a hack: Check if there’s a book warehouse near you!
