Get ready for back to school outfit videos!!

Today was exciting and nerve wracking for all of us!! We are most definitely not used to getting up early and getting out the door by 730/8 these days so I kept it simple this morning and wore a dress that I know works for me with some comfortable flats and minimal makeup.

I will try to post a series of ‘school run’ / back to school outfits over the next few weeks to give you some easy outfit ideas as we go back SO much earlier than most and it’s still insanely hot 🔥 here in Florida.

This new phone case from @bandolierstyle #bandolierstyle

It’s called the Gia and it comes in silver and gold embossed leather with a super cool slinky disco chain 🪩 which was so easy to style and went perfectly with all my holiday fits.

It is the best hands free travel companion and I didn’t need my wallet or even a handbag on most days because I had my cards and some cash tucked away in the outside pocket of the phone case.

I took it on the plane, trains, to a festival (perfect for getting those last minute videos as it was hands free and within quick reach at all times), to the beach, to an art gallery, walking around old town Mahón in menorca and more.

I got so many compliments on this phone case and as a long time Bandolier fan I have to say this is one of my favorite cases they have ever done as it’s a bit dressier and can be styled up or down. The snake chain is also super cool and can be easily clipped on or off.

It’s a tank top and baggy Jean summer.

This was my uniform circa 2000 - 2005 and I am quite happy it’s back… Very Y2K in a good way!

I found 3 great basic tanks that won’t break the bank (they are all currently on sale for $15!)

Just add some baggy drawstring jeans (these are also on sale RN!) and some fun jewelry and your summer uniform is sorted!

My little butterfly 🦋

I have missed doing Lola’s hair in the mornings. She has been going through a new phase of wanting to be ‘free’ as she calls it and that means not having anything in her hair or wearing any restrictive clothes.

Both my girls are super sensitive to anything that could potentially make them itchy or uncomfortable. Tags, zippers, waistbands on shorts and trousers, having their hair tied too tight, even wearing closed toed shoes when it’s hot (which is all the time now).

I’m hoping they will grow out of it, Lola is still very much in the thick of it and some mornings we have complete meltdowns that can last 20-30 mins during which there is no reasoning with her. I try to get ahead of these episodes but once they start it’s best to just grab a coffee and watch it unfold.

Usually she brings herself out of it in her own but I have learned not to interrupt it or try to correct it while it’s happening or it can make everything worse!

My older child has thankfully grown out of most of these sensory sensitivities (she is 7 now) and I’m hoping like with most things it’s just a phase and Lola will too.

Today was a good day, and she let me do this gorgeous fishtail 🐠 braid but I had to promise to add the sparkly gems and butterflies 🦋 (she did try to take the whole thing out herself once we got in the car tho)!

This is a great easy and quick hairstyle for school days - just divide front hair into 2 sections at part and secure with 2 hair bands. Twist each side towards the face and start to overlap them. Continue twisting and overlapping until you create a cute twisted pony. Secure with matching hair clips !

This week in Erin’s Edits I delve into the preppy world of tennis gear.

I recently started taking lessons alongside my daughter and a few other parents in our neighborhood and I am really enjoying it so far! It’s so nice to get outside, sweat and be social with friends whilst learning a new skill.
