For our one-year anniversary of officially becoming husband and wife, we decided to celebrate at National Harbor. And since Sofia couldn’t make it to the courthouse last year, she refused to be left out again. This time she basically handed us her own itinerary and said, “I’m coming.” End of discussion. One of our favorite things to do together is definitely fine dining—nothing says love like judging food as a team. So we decided to give Grace’s Mandarin another try. Service was amazing. Drinks were flawless. Sushi was underwhelming. Either our taste buds have changed or we’ve officially become sushi snobs thanks to our neighborhood spots. This round the sushi gave serious “you could’ve skipped me” energy. But the whole fried fish was incredible. We demolished it so completely the waiter probably thought we hadn’t been fed all day. The only survivors were a couple of bones. The décor is gorgeous, the ambiance is stunning, and the place is definitely worth visiting—just maybe let the sushi live its own life and order literally anything else.
