Every painting I create starts the same way…

Not with a blank canvas.

With a piece of art someone no longer wanted. I hunt for abandoned pieces with interesting textures that I can recycle and save from the landfill.

I tend to always reach for the oversized canvases, future statement pieces that can fill a blank wall.

The reason I love creating this way is simple, there's no pressure.

You’re not staring at a blank, expensive canvas afraid to mess it up. You’re working with something that was already on its way out, giving yourself permission to explore.

Before you spend hundreds on supplies or buy a project you’re too nervous to touch…

Start with something you already own.

The outdated art.
The forgotten frame.
The piece tucked away because it no longer fits your style.

Worst case? You still don’t love it.

Best case?

You discover you’re more creative than you ever thought. 🤍
