Sometimes the plan changes... and for once, I'm really glad it did. What started as two IKEA bookcases and a budget-friendly plan for our son's nursery closet turned into one of my favorite projects we've ever done. The original plan was to paint everything. We built it, refaced it with poplar, installed the hanging rods, and were fully prepared to grab the paintbrushes... But the more I looked at the wood, the more I couldn't bring myself to cover it up. So we waited. And waited. And eventually realized we loved it exactly as it was. The best part? The IKEA bookcases that inspired this entire design were 50% off when we bought them. 4! I'd still love to add a few shelves above the hanging rods someday, but for now, I'm calling this one finished enough and celebrating the progress. Now I need to know... are you team natural wood or paint? LTKmomlife LTKstorytime LTKHome
