🐾 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝟭𝟭𝘁𝗵 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗴, 𝗟𝗢𝗟𝗔!🎂❤️

Lola is celebrating her 11th birthday alongside her fellow Leo and Insta-pal @piperthepin, who turns 9 this month! ♌️🐶

Lola and her siblings had been rescued from a high-risk shelter in the South. We know her mom was a Flat-Coated Retriever, and we suspect her dad may have been a terrier.

We planned to wait before adopting another dog, but our long-haired Chihuahua, Romeo, was heartbroken without his longtime sidekick, China (a shephard mix rescued from @roxiesfund who lived a wonderful 15 years with us and basucally raised Romeo).

With young children at home, we knew we needed to find a 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆-𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗴 whose personality and energy level would be a good fit for Romeo and our lifestyle.

So we turned to @petfinder and began searching local dog rescues and adoptable puppies.

Before long, we found Lola through @rescuesmallmiracles ❤️

It’s hard to believe Lola was ever this tiny. 🥹

Over the past 11 years, Lola has grown up right alongside our daughter, becoming part of so many of our family’s memories. 🐾

And while she may technically be a senior dog now, you would NEVER know it when someone brings out her beloved elephant toy. 😂🐘 Fetch is still serious business around here!

⏰ Get extra park time! The Halloween party officially runs from 7 PM–midnight, but your party ticket lets you enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4 PM — no regular daytime park ticket needed.
🍬 Trick-or-treat around Magic Kingdom and go home with plenty of candy.
👻 See Disney characters in their special Halloween looks plus villains and other characters you don’t typically encounter during a normal park day.
🎢 Ride favorite attractions — with some getting special Halloween twists just for the party.

Back-to-school time is officially here! 🎒📚 Hope your kids had a great first day!

The house felt SO quiet today…but somehow my day was still just as busy. 😅 My inbox is already filling up with teacher emails, sports schedules, sign-ups, music calendars, paperwork and all the other things that come with a new school year.

One thing I’ve been loving lately is 365 Executive Functioning Hacks for Adult ADHD. I originally picked it up for my son, but I started reading it too and quickly realized how useful so many of the tips are for anyone who struggles with staying organized, getting started or feeling overwhelmed.

If you’ve driven I-68 through Western Maryland, chances are you’ve seen 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹 — but do you know the story behind it?
‌
For centuries, this mountain ridge blocked travelers moving west. Early settlers had a tough choice: go 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 the mountain… or go 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 it. Either route was dangerous.
‌
Originally called “Side Long Hill,” the mountain was dramatically transformed in the 1980s when engineers chose to cut through it instead of tunneling beneath it.
‌
The result? One of the most impressive geological road cuts in the country. 🌎⛰️

🔹 340 feet deep
🔹 10 MILLION tons of rock removed
🔹 Rock layers dating back 340–365 million years

And our chiweenie mix Skipper (properly known as Lulworth Skipper + formerly known as Rufus + Rascal) was adopted when he was around 2 thru @operationpawsforhomes, a strictly foster-based rescue in MD, DC, PA + VA. He was a stray + previously lived in Paris (Tennessee)!

There’s just something about a little red wagon that brings back all the memories—neighborhood walks, tired kiddos getting a ride home, and now… even our tired pups hopping in for a break 🤗🐶

Today celebrates the simple joy of outdoor play and imagination—and honestly, it’s one of those “slow down and soak it in” reminders I love as a mom. These are the moments our kids will remember 💛
