This is my “Runner Body” 🏃🏾‍♀️

I have a body and I run — it’s really that simple.

Yes, still a runner with the curves, dimples, thunderous thighs and cellulite.

Your body doesn’t make you a runner.
Running makes you a runner.

Whether your thighs jiggle, your belly rolls, or your pace is slow — you’re still doing the thing.

You don’t have to earn that title with a sculpted body or slim legs. This is my runner’s body. Strong, soft and jiggly, and carries me mile after mile.

Shoutout to all my fellow curvy runners and athletes out there!

I see you and thank you for reflecting to me what strong bodies of all shapes and sizes look like 💕

You know that moment when you catch a glimpse of your legs all you can see are the things you’ve been taught to hate — the bumps, the cellulite, the softness?

Yeah, me too.

But I also see power, beauty and strength 🌟

These legs have carried me through heartbreak, healing, and miles of movement.

They are not flaws to fix — they are evidence that I live in this body fully.

And I choose every day to live in it unapologetically.

Soft doesn’t mean weak.
Cellulite doesn’t mean unworthy.

And if there’s anything I’ve learned about body acceptance, it’s that your legs are not the problem — the shame we carry is.

The shame isn’t yours to carry and it’s okay to put it down ❤️

THIGH BLINDNESS IS DELULU 🥲🥲

These shorts did in fact not look good and it was HUMBLING 🥲🥲🥲

When I say I rarely find curvy friendly running shorts THIS WHY!

My thighs love to gobble up the material even if the waist fits 😭

I am trying out new brands to see what else is out there and I will say I LOVE the sports bra but I think I’ll stick to ordering leggings and bike shorts next time from @lskd 😆😆 cuz their matching sets are CUTE and they have sizing up to a 3XL 👏🏾

THIGH FRIENDLY RUNNING SHORTS ‼️

If I were to imagine designing dream running shorts that are thigh friendly — these are it!

The only athletic shorts I’ve ever owned are bike shorts (which are great btw!) but it’s SO nice to find a real pair of running shorts that work for my curves! 😍

I’m back in my running era and I’ve never wanted Spring to come faster because I am so excited to wear these Shake It Out High-Rise Running Shorts from @lululemon

They are light, have a flowy layered hem and come in so many fun colours!

I’m rating them 5/5 stars and they get my official thick thigh baddie stamp of approval!! 🌟

Currently they’re available from size XXXS-XL but I’d REALLY like to see them become available for thighs of all sizes because everyone deserves to have a pair of shorts like this they love!!

“You look like an athlete that just got out of shape”

👆🏾 A recent comment I received that initially triggered me but then I relief washed over me when I remembered I’m STILL an athlete 👏🏾

There is no definition of what an athlete looks like 🙄
Athletes come in all shapes, sizes and ages.

I grew up playing competive sports, running track and even was a collegiate athlete on a scholarship 🏆

Now I’m a 35 year old woman just trying to stay healthy — why does that makes me any less of an athlete now?

I still run, lift, swim, cycle etc — I’m just not competing against anyone.

Athletics are for EVERY BODY and striving for different goals you had when you were younger doesn’t make you less of an athlete.

I’d argue you that my approach to fitness at this “out of shape age” is more sustainable, consistent and joyful than it ever was when I was competing.

I’m not chasing anyone else’s definition of what it means to be a runner or athlete other than my own and you shouldn’t either!

For far too long the definition of what it means to be an athlete has been exclusionary — reserved for those with sculpted arms and defined abs.

This your reminder athletes can still be athletes with rolls, cellulite and no thigh gap ✌🏾

The HOLY GRAIL of running shorts for big 🍑 runners!!

I’ve ran over 100km in these shorts since March and I am obsessed!!

No front diaper wedgie, lots of leg space, flowy and feminine and they come in soo many colours and matching bra!

I’ve posted about these shorts before but they’re SO good they deserve even more real estate on your feed!

My bottom is significantly larger than my top and I never thought I could find shorts to run in other than bike shorts.

Alas, @lululemon dropped these gems earlier this Spring and the 300+ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews don’t lie!

Thick thigh friendly summer shorts!

✅ Must have stretch
✅ Longer inseam (not short shorts so no thigh rub)
✅ Won’t bunch up
✅ No waist gap

I’ve always wanted to try clothes from Alder Apparel as they have an inclusive size range (XS-6X) of outdoor recreation apparel focused on playfulness and performance.

When I receive this Roots Canada x Alder Apparel collab Get Dirty Dress in a PR box, I knew I had to share it with you guys!

The quick dry material feels soft and stretchy but also very durable (almost like a really soft windbreaker).

It has two zip-close pockets but no built in shorts so if you’re susceptible to thigh rub— throw some shorties on under this dress!

This is clearly the summer of fun, activewear dresses and I am HERE for it!
