When we moved in, Emerson’s room was still a nursery or sorts. When it came time to modify it as she grew up, I struggled. Tried different color schemes, added various elements. Nope. Couldn’t get it right. This room took me years to figure out but now that it’s finally done, it’s quite possibly my favorite room. 🤍 I suppose the lesson here is to have patience. It will come together.

I have a couple of changes on the horizon in this space…the first one being that I am finally adding drapery. Cannot wait to see how it softens the wall with the two sets of double doors. The second is new artwork. We’ve had this photograph for over ten years and while I love it, it’s time to move him elsewhere and make a change. Hope that you all had a lovely weekend!

Hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I’m sitting here in this room, sipping my coffee after finishing Wordle, wondering how it’s possible that both of our kids are still sleeping. A rare occurrence. We have a packed day so it’s a good thing. How is your weekend going?

Just a reminder to think outside of the box when it comes to design. For example, our kitchen table is actually an outdoor table but I absolutely loved the concrete top so, for us, it’s an indoor table. It’s been great because it’s so durable because it was built to withstand the elements. A definite win with two young kids!

After posting a reel in which I shared our new mudroom rug, I received several requests for the cargos that I was wearing. These are THE BEST. So comfy…I’ve been living in the two pairs that I have and am about to buy the other color. 😂 TTS and long so I wear them with my platform Adidas.

Fingers crossed, I have finalized the design plan for my parents’ room at the lake. I was playing around with painted nightstands but everything kept falling flat. These metal nightstands provided just the right amount of contrast against the wood bed frame. Going to keep pillows and bedding fairly simple, I think?
