Small Closets call for BIG changes. We turned this small closet from wasted space to a happy, organized & easy to maintain closet. I’ve been seeing the @target bookcase hack & knew this was the perfect project to utilize this genius “hack”.
With one 6 cube bookcase cubby, 1 3 cube cubby & 2 standard bookshelf’s this closet was given all the upgrades without the big sticker price & lengthy installation.

When the fabulous interior designer, Samantha Thompson asked me to help add some organization to her linen closet I knew it would be a beautiful space. She loves these @landsend bags to store her sheets and blankets. We used foldable sheet organizers to store seasonal and infrequently used items. To make the space sparkle we had to remove some of the excess. We relocated keepsakes & camp specific sheets to a bathroom closet to free up space. Once we had more space, I was able to adjust the shelves! Don’t let the space stay stagnant just because that’s where the shelves were placed when you moved into the house….they adjust…& it’s super easy and fast.

Pro Packing Tips! Summer packing tips! I love packing cubes and hanging toiletry bags but I want to add a few additional supplies that will make your stay away feel more like home.

This summer while visiting @thecontainerstore to purchase more packing cubes but I have some great additions to add to your packing list!

1. Zippered vinyl and mesh pouches. I use these as inserts inside my purse. They can hold a wet, bathing suit, perfect spot for your latest collection of seashells a water free spot for your cell phone. The list goes on & on.
2. S & Clip Hooks- 🛀🛀 please no wet towels & bathing suits on the floor. Adding hooks to the closet & shower rod increase the real estate needed to avoid the dreaded towels on your patio.

Teen closet edit before back to school. Here’s a few tips that helped us transform the space.
1. Map the new space- we moved a lot of items to new drawers or containers. Until she can learn the new system I left painters tape for a map that can easily be pealed off in a few weeks.

2. Size Rotation -Current size Ready & Donate sizes too small

3. Use inserts to help with shorts & skirts. They’re so tiny- it’s easier to “stuff” vs. folding.

4. Sturdy Felt Baskets act like “drawers” for bulky items like sweatshirts & jeans
5. You can never have enough Shoe Storage!👟🥿👠👢👡 Use the back of the door, the top shelf of the closet & store Flip flops in a basket.

6. Store seasonal items under the bed to make the closet less crowded. Perfect spot for backpacks, purses, costumes and large winter jackets.
