Ever wonder where in the world to hide your sleeping pillows when you make the bed?

You’re not alone, friend. It’s one of the most-asked questions I get and the answer is beautifully simple. I tuck them right behind Euro shams. They’re hidden, but handy. Out of sight, but still close by for those early evening reads or weekend sleep-ins. On a king bed, I use three Euro shams; on a queen, two is plenty.

In front of that, I layer the two pillow shams that match my duvet and finish with a small lumbar pillow for a little extra polish. That’s it. No mountain of pillows to remove at night…just a timeless, well-dressed bed that feels elevated and effortless.

I’m not a fan of fussy. Just give me affordable luxury: soft sheets, great pillows, a breathable duvet, and a simple styling trick or two. A classic, cozy bed doesn’t have to be complicated, it just needs to invite you in.

Spring has officially sprung, and you’ll find us living life out on our patio every chance we get. Morning coffee, (yes please) evening wine, post-swim hangouts, family pool parties, cookouts and always keeping a good book close by. I’m currently reading The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand…so good!

There’s just something about entertaining poolside that makes life feel a little extra lovely this time of year.

But let’s be honest…Southern sun? She does not play. We spend so much time out here that we needed to upgrade our shade solution. We solved that problem with this enormous rectangle umbrella that was #gifted to us by @purpleleafgarden

This patio umbrella has become the MVP of our outdoor living right now. It was super easy to install, rotates 360°, and adjusts every which way so we can block the sun no matter what time of day it is when we’re out here.

It has turned our patio into a little oasis and makes entertaining (and relaxing) a whole lot more comfortable. If you’re sprucing up your outdoor space, I can’t recommend it enough!

✨BUNK BED REVEAL!✨

What do you do with a houseful of guests coming for the week, not enough guest rooms and an unused closet off the bonus room?

Undertake the coziest built-in bunkbeds project of course!!! …and plan to finish it in 7 days!

This closet was already the perfect size for 2 full-size mattresses, and I had wanted to convert it into built-in bunks for so so long, so we dove in!

I don’t know if it was a great idea, or if we were seriously crazy, because it took everything we had to get these bunks sleepable by the time our guests arrived. (Ok, I might’ve been a little too optimistic on my seven day timeline… Lol.)

It took a minute to work out the plans, but once everything was delivered, the race was on. I decided to build the structure as a loft, because I knew in the future this would be heavily used, and I wanted to feel secure, no matter how many kids were playing on that top bunk. I’m pretty certain you could put a baby elephant up there and it wouldn’t even wiggle.

It was so fun adding all the details from nickel gap shiplap, individual dimmable lights, a rope ladder and my absolute favorite Indian block print quilts I fell in love with in Jaipur. They are so incredibly soft, lightweight, and perfect for snuggling. And of course, there’s lots of blue, a pop of turquoise and plenty of crisp white paint!

OK, full disclosure. I missed my deadline. Partly because I thought everybody was arriving on Tuesday morning, when in fact, they arrived Monday early evening. Not an issue at all, because I was so excited for everybody to get here, but I installed the railing after dinner, lol, and all the touchups and final painting had to wait.

The good news? The bunks worked amazing! And the feedback from the two tween girls that slept there? The best ever!

Would I do it again? Absolutely!! Although I might give myself a little more time next time.
