5 things I ALWAYS do before decorating for fall 🍂

Before the pumpkins, cozy pillows, and fall decor come out, I like to give the house a little seasonal reset first:

🍂 Refresh the couch with baking soda
🍂 Make a fall simmer pot
🍂 Wash all of my Ruggable rugs
🍂 Deep clean the floors — Mr. Clean Harvest Spice is perfect for this time of year
🍂 Wash all the throw blankets

There’s just something about having everything clean, fresh, and smelling like fall before I start decorating. 🤎

And the easiest fall simmer pot:

• 1 apple, sliced
• 1 orange, sliced
• 2–3 cinnamon sticks
• 1 tsp whole cloves
• 1 tsp vanilla
• Water to cover

Add everything to a pot, bring it to a gentle simmer, then turn the heat down low. Add more water as needed and let your house smell AMAZING. 🍎🍊

Save this for your fall reset. 🍂

The Sunday setup that saves my sanity 🙌🏼

There’s something about starting the week with a clean fridge, a stocked pantry, and meals/snacks ready to grab and go that just makes busy school mornings SO much easier.

I’ve been using Sundays to reset the fridge, clean out the pantry, restock everything, and get a little meal prep done before the week begins. It takes some time on the front end, but I swear I get that time (and a whole lot of sanity) back all week long.

Because when everyone is rushing out the door for school, the last thing I want to think about is, “What are we going to eat?” 😂

A little Sunday prep = a much calmer week. 🤍

If your command center is anything like ours, the top somehow becomes a dumping ground for charging cords, iPads, and all the things that need to be plugged in. 😅

We wanted to keep the function without all the visual clutter, so this simple rattan basket became the perfect little hiding spot for the cords and electronics.

If getting out the door for school every morning feels a little chaotic… these systems might help. 👏🏼

⏰ The 8:12 timer: The girls know the goal—get dressed, eat breakfast, brush their hair + teeth, and be completely ready for school. If they finish everything in time, they get to watch a little TV until the timer goes off at 8:12. Simple, predictable motivation that WORKS.

🎀 A hair caddy: Everything they need to brush, detangle, and style their hair lives right in the main-floor bathroom.

🪥 A toothbrush bin: No running upstairs at the last minute. Their toothbrushes + everything they need are easily accessible on the main floor.

👗 Sunday outfit prep: They pick out their clothes for the entire week and put them in a labeled hanging organizer by day. No morning outfit decisions required.

🧺 A laundry-room “special clothes” bin: Sports, gym clothes, and anything else they need to keep track of has a designated spot so it doesn’t get lost in their bedrooms.

The common theme? Make the things they need EASY to access. 🙌🏼

Less running around. Less decision-making. Less “WHERE IS YOUR ___?!” 😂

And honestly, sometimes the best organization systems are the ones that make the right thing the easiest thing to do.

#AD One thing I've learned this summer... if I want my girls to actually want to help around the house, I have to make it fun. Between my three girls, our kitchen is basically a nonstop snack station 😂 which also means... endless dishes.
So I let them come with me to Target and pick out their own cleaning tools. I’ve realized that something as simple as letting them choose made them so much more excited to help. We pair it with timers, rewards, and lots of encouragement, and it's honestly been such a game changer.

Lunch packing hack to make your school mornings easier, from a mom of 3! 👇

After starting this system in our home, our mornings have been SO much less stressful. I ultimately get to choose what goes into their lunches, but the girls still get a say in what they’re eating. 🙌

They get to pick one sandwich, one fruit, one veggie, one miscellaneous item, and one pantry snack! 🍎🍇🥦🫛

And the best part? It completely eliminates the daily arguments about what we’re having for lunch because they get to make their own choices from the options I’ve already provided. Win-win! 👏

A mid-summer reset I didn’t know we needed. ☀️

The kitchen and living room got a good refresh, the dishwasher + garbage disposal got DEEP cleaned, the garbages got scrubbed out, and even the outside of the windows got some love. ✨

Two things I do on Sundays to make summer easier ☀️

A little prep now saves so much time (and stress!) during the week.

✨ 1. Food prep
I like to have a few grab-and-go options ready:
• Yogurt bark for easy summer snacks 🍓
• Lunches prepped for myself
• Breakfast muffins for the girls so mornings are simple

I’m sharing the recipes below so you can try them too!

✨ 2. Restocking the spaces we use every day
There’s nothing worse than reaching for something you need and realizing it’s gone, so I take a few minutes to reset our supplies.

My laundry room reset included my stain caddy, stocked with:
🧼 Stain remover spray
🧼 OxiClean or stain powder
🧼 Laundry brush
🧼 White cloths/rags
🧼 Shout wipes or stain sticks for quick messes
🧼 Any laundry essentials I’m running low on

I also restocked under the kitchen sink with:
✨ Dishwasher tablets
✨ Microfiber cloths
✨ Sanitizing wipes

Everything is cleaned up, stocked, and ready to go — making the busy summer weeks feel a little smoother. 🤍

Somehow mine got maggots (don’t judge 😅), so it was officially time.

Here’s exactly what I used:
🧼 Dawn dish soap
🍶 vinegar
💦 Hot water
🪥 A good scrub brush

A few minutes later, it was clean, deodorized, and I no longer dreaded opening the lid.

Save this for the next time your garbage can starts smelling… and send it to the friend whose trash can probably needs this too. 😂

✨ Monthly cleaning tasks that are easy to forget—but make a BIG difference.

These aren’t things I do every week, but adding them to my monthly reset helps keep the house feeling cleaner without a ton of extra work.

✔️ Deep clean your bedding. I like using my mattress vacuum with UV light to help remove dust mites, allergens, and bacteria from mattresses and pillows before putting on fresh sheets.

✔️ Soak water bottles and tumblers. A Polident tablet works wonders for breaking down buildup in those hard-to-reach spots (especially lids and straws).

✔️ Wash your shower curtain and liner. Most can go right in the washing machine, and it’s such an easy way to freshen up the whole bathroom.

✔️ Scrub your trash cans. Even with liners, they collect spills, odors, and grime over time. A quick wash keeps them smelling fresh.

It’s amazing how much cleaner your home feels when you stay ahead of the things you don’t always see.

I thought my living room was clean… until I saw this. 😅
