Can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m so ready for fall in the city. Although summers on Silba will forever be my favorite. We always feel so grounded there, reconnect with nature, our family and ourselves. It’s the perfect reset. And coming back to the city is always such an indescribable feeling. Everything is inspiring and even more exciting again.

Is it just me or do you sometimes look at your camera roll and think „wow, I’m really in this beautiful place right now.“, as if it’s not enough to just absorb it with your eyes. I love to lay in bed and scroll through „the day“ or „the week“. I’m definitely guilty of taking too many photos and videos, especially of Liam. But honestly going back in time by watching videos and photos from a year ago makes me happy. In a way I feel like I’m extending that moment and reliving it and at the same time acknowledging how much strength, growth and love it took to get to the present moment. The last two slides are pretty much exactly a year apart. And while I don’t like paying for Liam’s airplane ticket now that he’s two, I love how much easier it is to travel with him now… and in general how much we’ve all grown as a family.

When I was 7, my older sister moved to the US and we moved from Germany to Croatia. I felt like she was too far for me to imagine. We would talk on the phone a lot and one time she told me to look for the moon. I found it and she told me she could see it too. For some reason that felt like such a beautiful connection. And whenever I would miss her, or later my best friend, we would think of each other whenever we would see the moon. I love the moon. Hence the little tattoo on my wrist. And even Liam gets so excited every time he sees it, always makes sure to point it out to me and gives me a big hug.
And since I mentioned it on the photo: how crazy it is to think about standing in the exact same spot, while being in different stages of your life, feeling such different feelings… in a way it helped me calm down a lot. To think that I was standing in this exact place while a helpless child, a heartbroken teenager, a happily engaged woman, a pregnant woman, everything in between, and now a mother. Take a deep breath and trust. Trust yourself, the universe, that you got this and that good things are always around the corner. Everything will make sense in the end.

From a special night with @volvocarusa and @dsanddurga
They brought a piece of Sweden’s incredible nature into this beautiful venue and showed off some vintage Volvo cars. The food was unbelievable and the fragrances and candle smelled so amazing too. All in all, this was one of the most unforgettable events I’ve ever been to.

The last frame was captured by Joe. He thought it was so cute how @zoelaz and I were reacting to the photos we were taking of each other. And it really is 🥲

Summer blues 🥣

Life lately. Tbh I feel all over the place and still struggle to balance it all. Although my mom is here ♥ Having her here and having her as an extra set of hands for Liam is SO amazing. But it’s true what they say: it takes years for you to feel remotely like your old self again after becoming a mom. But truly, the old old self will never return. Because for one, we’ve evolved so much but also every single part of our lives has changed.
Our sweet baby boy is no baby anymore. He’s over 2 now and is starting daycare soon. He speaks so much and his mind is even more beautiful than I have wished for.
But to summarize the photo dump: we spend so much quality time together, watch sunsets, Liam had his lead test done and was a trooper, Joe and I had a few more date nights which are so important and I’m spending more time with my mom than I thought I would in my living-across-the-pond adult life and it’s so beautiful.

Moments from the last week. That day had started so terribly. I made the call to take a bike instead of a car. Usually the best decision if you want to be on time. But not that morning. As I was on the city bike on the way to an early appointment, hair and make up done, it started pouring! So I thought I’d dock the bike at a spot at the nearest train station, but of course no spots were free. Not even a 5 min bike ride away. Then I was standing there in the rain, mad and feeling sorry for myself, looking like a wet dog, hoping for a spot to open up soon. But no one wants a bike when it’s pouring. After 10 min it finally did, a 2-3 min bike ride away, and by the time I was sitting in an Uber, not only was I drenched but I was also 40 min late to my first appointment. That meant only 15 min for a meeting that was supposed to last an hour, until I had to rush to the next. Oh well. Just me just complaining about nothing after all. Sometimes days just start shitty. I ended up spending a beautiful day with friends hosted by @babba & @myceremonia at the @therockawayhotel 💛 after all I came home to my lovely home and sweet family.
Thanks for listening to me vent. Felt worse in the moment haha. Focus on all the good.

Summer things 🌞🫧👙 I don’t remember the last time we spent most of the summer in the city. It’s been so hot but also so beautiful. Our plan is to go to Europe this month and I can’t wait to see more of my family there. And when we’re back, Liam will start daycare. Time flies.

My mom really didn’t want to do much other than spend time with Liam. Which was such a huge help. But we wanted to do at least something fun away from home after our trip to Ohio. But of course after coming back the weather forecast showed rain and thunderstorms every single day until my mom left. So this day was our last bet to spend time outside. We did get caught in the rain at the end but it was still such a fun experience. Liam was obsessed with the Gorillas 🦍

Summer snippets. It took us a while to adjust to the time zone. Liam on the other hand is a special breed. A 20 min nap is enough for him to get all his energy back, it seems like. Being in your beautiful home country just hits different. It’s like all the cells in my body relax. Having so much family around and helping hands on every side is definitely something I could get used to. Excited for every day we have here and enjoying the sun, sea and end of summer to the fullest 🧡🦀🐚🌞🌊
