I was looking for some things to take on vacation for when we go hiking in the desert hills and I decided to try Old Navy.

That was most certainly the right decision! Every outfit was so comfortable and looked really good!
I ended up keeping everything but the black sweats and rain jacket (only because I have similar items).
That black outfit looks so much like the Spanx version and feels like butter!!

Here’s a rule of thumb about buying shorts: If you wouldn’t wear a skirt in that fabric or cut, don’t buy shorts in it either. It makes quite a difference! A structured cut and intentional styling win every time!

There is a time and place for everything; a looser, less polished look is perfectly acceptable but if you’re looking for an elevated, more finished look, try that advice!

I think the secret to styling denim on denim is the silhouette, the accessories and what you pair it with.

My off the shoulder top has a softer look to it contrasting the dark, stiffer look of the denim.

The silhouette of the jeans are so flattering! They are a high rise with a bit of a barrel look and the dark wash really makes them look modern.

The jacket isn’t too long and the pockets and collar really gives a modern feel.

The belt is a bit of a western take with a modern twist in the vertical buckle that looks much like the designer, Celine belt.

The purse is a faux leather piece with fringe, which is really in style right now.
