One of my favorite finds ever: I own this dress in three different colors thanks to an amazing deal I scored on ThredUP. 🙌 It’s so easy, comfortable, and versatile -exactly what I reach for on a day when I want to look polished without trying too hard.

This was our full resort day - we lingered over breakfast, soaked in the beautiful lobby & courtyard and then headed to the spa. Because I was pregnant, I really appreciated how clear and knowledgeable the staff were about what treatments were safe and what wasn’t an option.

We wrapped up the day with dinner on property, which was a perfect way to close out our second to last day. 🏝️

Halfway through our trip, we switched things up and checked into the Marriott resort 🌊. I’ve stayed here several times before and thought it would be the perfect counterpoint to our first hotel so Lisa could experience a different vibe in Grand Cayman. ✨

The Marriott has such a fun energy and a long history on the island compared to some of the newer properties. The food is always a highlight—I make a point to eat here even if I’m not staying on property. The pool area is chic and fun (though very sunny with little shade - something to keep in mind!), This stretch of beach has seen the most erosion, and while there’s a restoration project in the works, it’s hard to say what the future holds for this lot. The area nearby makes for nice casual snorkeling & throughout the years I’ve even spotted barracuda here massive ones! *though I think the shifting shoreline has changed things a bit.

Beyond the beach, the spa was such a treat, and the gift shop is truly one of the best I’ve ever visited. 🌺 I loved getting to share this property with Lisa and revisiting so many of the things I’ve always loved about it.

One of my favorite days from this trip with Lisa was when we went into town for a little adventure. 🌴 We spent the morning at the history museum which I had somehow never been to before! They had a special focus on hurricanes and Hurricane Ivan in particular, and if you know me, you know I’m a little obsessed with weather history so I was instantly hooked. It was so powerful to hear the stories and learn how storms have shaped the island.

From there, we headed back in the direction of our hotel and popped into a fantastic consignment shop (we both scored some treasures 🛍️) and wandered through spots I’ve stayed at, shopped at, or always wanted to check out. It was an action-packed day, perfectly placed in the middle of the trip, and we capped it off with a late lunch back at the hotel.

On a sweet sentimental note, I picked up a few touristy shirts for my little one to wear one day. 💙

✨ This Tory Burch dress (and matching scarf!) have been on my wishlist since it first came out, and I was thrilled to find both secondhand. When I was pregnant, I wanted to be really thoughtful about what I added to my wardrobe - pieces that would work during that specific period AND beyond.

The silhouette of this dress was perfect during my second and third trimester, but the best part is it fits beautifully postpartum too since it didn’t require me to size up. While I’m not opposed to maternity-specific items, I knew I’d get more mileage out of something versatile that I would have enjoyed anyway. Plus, it gave me the perfect excuse to finally snag a piece I’d been eyeing for years!

I’m glad that I bought a few maternity specific pieces (like leggings - I’m still wearing these and would have been lost without them post c-section) but I’m really glad that I shopped for maternity-friendly silhouettes from my fave regular brands as well because they will get so much more use than hyper-specific maternity items would have.

Just a few posts left in this travel capsule ✨ It’s been such a joy to relive this trip with you, and I can’t wait to share the final moments.

This night was a favorite—dinner at a spot I always make sure to visit whenever I’m on the island. The food never disappoints, and I love that it’s just a short walk from where we stayed. One of the best parts of this area is being able to stroll to different restaurants in the warm evening air—something I miss coming from such a dry climate.

The island is definitely busier now than when I visited as a kid with my parents, but it still feels relaxed and charming compared to big city life. 🌴💫

Outfit note: this dress was actually a rental that I ended up buying because I wore it so much on this trip. That’s the beauty of renting- you get to try pieces, and if one becomes a staple, you can keep it at a discount. A win-win!

This might be one of my favorite looks of the whole trip. I almost never shop Amazon, but I love this set so much I own it in three colors—and it’s the one thing I’d actually recommend grabbing there. It’s versatile, easy, and chic.

On this day, I layered it over my swimsuit so we could head straight from breakfast to the pool before our spa appointments (efficiency ✨). The ric rac trim is my favorite detail—it ties in perfectly with my hat and makes the whole look pop.

This breakfast at the Marriott is also a little nostalgic for me—my parents and I stayed here years ago and always looked forward to these mornings together. 💛

✨ Four Dinner Looks in Cayman ✨
Dinner is always the main event for me when I’m on vacation. The food scene in Cayman is vibrant and full of variety - you can find everything from fine dining to island classics to creative new bites. Plus the ambience Always amazing, no matter where you go.

On this trip we enjoyed:
🍝 Ragazzi – a longtime favorite of mine. Luxe yet familiar Italian dining with incredible service and generous portions. I was so happy to share this special spot with Lisa.
🍸 Pom-Pom - a chic rooftop bar at the new IHG property. The vibes were immaculate, though I’m still torn on high-rises in Cayman. (The food itself was lovely!)
🦞 The Marriott – we had two incredible dinners here: lobster night, seaside under the stars and souk night, both with fantastic service.

Because Cayman evenings are still hot and humid, I reached for breathable fabrics like cotton and linen, styled with my favorite statement accessories so the looks stayed chic and comfortable.

VayCayman 2025 - Travel Recap

☀️ First Full Pool Day ☀️
While the ocean was just meters away, this resort doesn’t have direct beach access - you can either hop on the shuttle to a designated beach spot or take a short stroll to one of the most famous beaches in the world. Buuuuuut since we had plenty of beach time planned for our next stop, we decided to fully embrace pool life here at the Hilton.

Best decision ever. 🏖 We practically had the pool to ourselves - maybe six people all day - and the poolside restaurant offers the most delicious snacks and refreshing drinks from morning until late night. Impeccable vibes, zero crowds, and all the sunshine.

Now, about this suit - believe it or not, it’s a Target maternity find I scored secondhand on Poshmark (tags still on!). And I have to say, Target’s maternity swimwear is shockingly good. I’m very particular about my swimsuits, and this one (along with a couple others from the line) truly measured up. Proof that you don’t have to spend big to find something cute, comfy, and bump-friendly.

VayCayman 2025 🌴 Trip Recap

The next day was all about taking in the vibes. We slept in, wandered down to breakfast, and found plenty of fresh, delicious options still waiting - the kitchen keeps things replenished right through the last minute. We ended up being the last ones in the lobby (again) after the dining room had cleared out because we couldn’t stop talking. 💚

I wore this look because it felt cute and comfortable - the holy grail combo, especially mid-pregnancy. The top is part of a matching set, but only the top fit at this point, so I paired it with my go-to maternity leggings. I’ve mentioned it before, but I love a cropped silhouette with high-waisted bottoms when maternity dressing. It keeps proportions flattering, adds zero extra volume or discomfort, and still gives you full coverage and easy movement.

Pro tip: when I invest in a set, I always make sure the pieces work separately. That versatility is what makes suiting and coordinated looks such great value. This outfit is proof - no skirt needed to still enjoy!

VayCayman 2025 - Trip Recap 🌴

The first time I set foot on Grand Cayman was in the mid-90s on a family vacation - my very first big trip out of the country, and the first time we ever did a classic “family getaway.” We stayed at the Holiday Inn, one of only a few properties along Seven Mile Beach at the time. That hotel is long gone, but interestingly, the Ritz now sits on the very same stretch of sand.

It’s a good stretch of beach - one that’s escaped the severe erosion affecting other areas over the past 20 years. On the first day of that very first trip, I waded into the water with my parents… and a massive sea turtle swam by almost instantly. To little me, it was huge - about the same as my wingspan at the time - and it was gliding right there in just three feet of water. It remains the coolest introduction I’ve ever had to any place.

If you’re here, I highly recommend getting in the water around the Ritz - you can still see amazing things without swimming far. And while you’re on land, the Ritz is also worth exploring. After tea, we had the best time wandering through the property and even popped into a Dolce & Gabbana pop-up full of incredible pieces. 🐢✨

Vaycayman 2025 - Trip Recap

The perfect first FULL day on the island. 🌊

After a dreamy afternoon tea at The Ritz, Lisa and I wandered down the beach, letting the waves and late-afternoon light set the pace. Back at our resort, we watched the sun slip toward the horizon before slipping into the pool which we had entirely to ourselves. ✨ The warm evening air, the quiet, and the chance to actually just hang out felt extra special since we live on opposite ends of the country and usually only get our marathon catch-ups over the phone.

Post-swim, we strolled across the street to pick up dinner from one of my all-time Cayman favorites: Chicken! Chicken! An island OG, it’s been here for as long as I can remember - simple, delicious, and packed with local flavor. While the island is full of exciting chef-led restaurants, this spot will always have my heart. If I lived here, I’d be in at least once a week.

Vaycayman 2025 - Travel Recap 🌴

Having been to the island many times before, there were plenty of activities I was eager to revisit—but Lisa had done her research, too. One of her finds? Afternoon tea. ☕️✨

There are a few highly recommended options on the island, but I’ll never pass up an excuse to spend an afternoon at the Ritz. Their property is gorgeous- elevated yet infused with local charm - and this was my first time experiencing their tea. Safe to say…it’s already at the top of my list for my next visit.

From the moment we sat down, we were in good hands (helped along by the fact that the illustration on the menu looked like us ✨ - it was meant to be). The service was impeccable, the atmosphere indulgent but welcoming, and the menu balanced the sweet with savory in such a thoughtful way. The sandwiches in particular showcased local flavors beautifully, making it feel like so much more than a traditional tea.

Luxurious setting, perfect food, wonderful company - this is exactly the kind of experience I want to remember every time I come back. 🌴💛

Late-night chic + ocean breezes 🌊

Lisa and I wandered over to the shopping center our first evening and finally tried a restaurant I’ve been curious about for years: Agua. The food was fresh and flavorful, the vibes were chic but relaxing, and it was the perfect spot for a late-night catch-up on both the most important and least important topics of life.

Lisa ordered the cutest mocktail in a coconut-shaped cup (I’m still obsessed). The walk back was just as lovely - perfectly warm with that Grand Cayman humidity I adore, especially coming from Denver’s dry air! On the way, we passed the Marriott Resort, where we’d be staying for the second half of the trip, so we took a quick walk-through to get excited - and got to say hello to the ocean and meet a very charming beach cat.

My outfit struck that perfect travel balance: fun and fancy, but also incredibly comfortable for an evening of strolling. I wore one of my favorite Bumpsuit pieces styled with a chic Antonio Melani top from a past Dillard’s collection - plus my go-to comfy sandals (polished thanks to the monogram detail.) When you know you’ll be walking a lot, shoes become a major packing decision- and this pair was an easy decision to include!

First night out on the island ✨

The moment I dropped my bags Lisa gave me the grand tour of our hotel and suite then we immediately shifted into full vacation mode. I’d been looking forward to this outfit since I packed it. It’s built on one of my favorite maternity styling tricks: high-waisted maternity bottoms paired with a regular crop top. I’m not always about that crop top life, but this silhouette became a go-to during pregnancy and because it was so comfy and such a unique silhouette.

The skirt was a Nuuly rental that turned into one of my most-worn maternity pieces. I loved it so much I bought it and it actually still works beautifully postpartum. Truly one of my best buys of the year.

We had a general idea of the area we wanted to cruise for dinner, but no set plan, so we wandered out to see what caught our eye. The wandering lasted longer than expected because I apparently don’t understand maps and I’m known for navigating based on vibes.

The ocean air here smells unlike anywhere else and stepping outside instantly transported me back to my first trip decades ago with my parents. On our short walk to dinner, that nostalgic scent lingered in the warm air, and I felt so grateful to be back.

We ended up pivoting from our original restaurant (once we actually found it lol) to the spot right next door, and it turned out to be the perfect choice: friendly service, beautifully presented plates, and exactly the easy, delicious first night we needed to kick off our trip.

Our best friend trip officially started the second I landed and I’ll never tire of the feeling of arriving at one of my favorite spots in the world. 🥹🌴

Lisa got to the resort before me and was already living her best life with cocktails + snacks at the gorgeous restaurant on property, Ms. Piper’s, which is honestly one of the reasons we chose this hotel. I’d been there on a previous trip and couldn’t stop thinking about it. The pool is chic and peaceful, the food is playful and delicious, and the entire vibe is just cool. It felt like an oasis the second we arrived, and it was love at first sight all over again.

Since we were flying in from different cities, Lisa’s flight landed earlier than mine but the build-up to meeting up made it all the more exciting. I wasn’t missing out on hospitality though: I flew with Cayman Airways and it was truly next-level. The warm, nostalgic energy reminded me of how travel used to feel - in the best way. They served actual food (included!), a full selection of drinks, and even played music as we boarded. Small detail, big vibe shift. ✈️

Watching the sun set from my window as we crossed the water sealed it: this trip was going to be magic. And the new direct flight from Denver is a total game-changer—no more complicated layovers like I had growing up. I even signed up for their frequent flyer program because of course I’ll be back.

The moment I walked into the Hampton by Hilton Grand Cayman, Lisa met me in the lobby, and just like that - it was on! The only decisions left to make: what we were wearing to dinner, and where we were eating. Which, if you ask me, are exactly the kind of “problems” I like to have. 💁‍♀️✨

This trip finally left the group chat. 🧳

Welcome to my newest capsule: a full style diary and behind-the-scenes breakdown from one of the most meaningful trips I’ve ever taken. Some of you may remember when I first shared snippets from this vacation earlier this year but I haven’t told the full story. I never shared the details of what I packed, what I wore, and why. Until now.

This trip had been on my best friend’s and my wishlist for years, and after endless chats and planning sessions, it finally came to life. It was our dream island getaway and one I’ll never forget for a very special reason: I got to share one of my favorite places in the world with one of my favorite people (plus- I was super pregnant at that the time!) 💚

Packing for a warm-weather getaway is always a welcome creative challenge, but this time around it felt like a personal puzzle. How do you dress for hot, humid days with a changing body and zero predictability? The answer, for me, was to approach it the same way I build my capsule wardrobes - intentionally, flexibly, and with joy.

This capsule will unfold in chronological order, starting with my go-to travel uniform: a striped button-down shirt. I always reach for one when I fly - they’re polished without trying too hard, breathable for all kinds of climates, and easy to style up or down depending on the vibe when you land. Plus, I can accessorize it to feel a little glam or a little understated, depending on my mood. This was an especially good choice for a second trimester look! I’m all for feeling comfy when flying but I am solidly team dress up for the airport.

I’ve been to this destination more than any other in my life, and to return while carrying new life made it feel extra full-circle. I’m so excited to re-live this epic experience while sharing how and why I packed what I did with you.

We had the most amazing time chilling at the pool at the Marriott Grand Cayman. It’s been a looooong time since I’ve stayed at the property and it was lovely to be back. The snacks by the pool are 💯 and there was free cotton candy the day these pics were taken (of course I got some!) Fun fact: cotton candy doesn’t do well in humidity. We had to eat FAST. Haha

I was a bit nervous to travel on the cusp of my third trimester, but nothing could keep me from this trip. I am so glad that Lisa was able to be flexible (we originally wanted to go a few weeks from now, and that would have been much trickier.) It was a joy to visit my favorite place alongside one of my BFFs! It’s also been amazing knowing that someday I will likely bring my future child here and I can tell them over and over again that they visited in utero once before (and they can say - “mom- I KNOW, you TOLD me already.)

Halfway through our trip we got to head over to the Marriott. I love checking out multiple resorts on a trip and I was thrilled to return to the Marriott after a long, long time. I last stayed here about 20 years ago (!) and was thrilled to check out the renovated rooms and return to my fave spots!
