This weekend my mom and I stopped by the Broadmoor for lunch to celebrate my birthday and it was finally warm enough for me to wear my Original Jacks! A curated style series

Color blocking - but make it striped. I love this look because it combines some of my favorite things about spring (colors, stripes) with an epic coat that is perfectly appropriate for winter. Especially here in Denver it’s important to layer for different temps during the winter and I love mixing my warm weather and cool weather pieces. Very helpful for not getting super sad in the darker days of the year.

A curated style series

Anyone who knew me way back in the day knows that I used to love wearing tall socks on full display. For a bit of time I pretended that it had never happened because I felt like it had been cringe and I just didn’t realize… but now I know that the cringe is in the eye of the beholder and I don’t have time for that dumb shit. I will wear what I like. 👍

This capsule is a fun exploration of Apres-ski-coded fashion repurposed for general winter moments, regardless of where you are. While I was born in Denver, and have spent most of my life living here, I have never skied. I never plan to ski. I do not want to ski. There is a joke amongst some communities here that you know the true locals based on who DOESN’T ski. I do, however, love a retro winter aesthetic, so this series is my tribute to being too busy doing other things to ever ski. So less “Après” and more “en lieu” I suppose. ⛷️ 💕

I remember one year when I was in college, I was working at Forever 21 (I know, right?) and I was scheduled to work on Xmas eve- even though I had requested the day off (and it was approved) and I ended up going in to work after all. At the end of my shift I bought a vest that looked just like this one and thought it was the wildest thing ever and had no clue if I could actually pull it off. Lol look how far we have come. Anyhow- it would totally still fit, but I gave it away years ago because I felt intimidated by wearing it - so I rented this one and am laughing at how easy it is to style. So, a reminder to myself that the version of you that wears or does the next intimidating thing is out there in the future - start today and they will be here sooner than you’d expect.

I have missed out on buying a lot of the items at the top of my wishlist….
And then I found them later secondhand! There are only a handful of pieces that I have not been able to find (yet!) If you are hoping to level up your wardrobe to include more pieces that you truly love but don’t have the funds to buy those items direct from the store, do not give up! I found this dress and jacket set on the real real for over 50% off of retail and these shoes were about 70% off second hand but never worn. Narrow down a list of items that you want and search occasionally - the resale market is still very saturated and with some patience you’ll start to acquire the items you’ll keep long-term. Wear what you love - don’t settle.
