Her reaction to the smash cake! 😂❤️ backstory ::: Sutton is about to turn 1! 😳 We are having her party in a couple weekends, and are getting everything ready! We also wanted to have a 1 year photoshoot! ❤️ We got some balloons and a smash cake so we could take pictures of her eating the cake! We all got there and Sutton was the best little model! She did amazing having her picture taken, and I think some of the family pictures we took are also going to turn out great! After the photographer took enough photos, we brought out the cake, and let her devour it! She went all in, grabbing huge handfuls, and Ellie helped give her a few bites too! 😂 It’s crazy that it has almost been a year since she was born. Sutton’s mama D and papa D brought her a present for the birthday! 🥹🦖

😂🥹 backstory ::: 10 years ago, Tay and I went to NYC for the first time. We were broke back then, and so when we got there, we had to be as frugal as possible. That meant we couldn’t go to the nice restaurants and could t afford things like a broadway show.

We got pizza on the first night of our trip 10 years ago, and ate leftovers for the rest of the trip to save money! 😅

We actually bought tickets to see a show, but after thinking about the price that we had just spent, we decided not to go, even though it was our honeymoon.

Since then, we have never been to a Broadway show. So Tay decided that this trip, we’d celebrate our anniversary by doing all of the things that we couldn’t do 10 years ago.

We went out to a nice dinner, and we went to a show! Tay ended up picking the Harry Potter show because 10 years ago we bought a book to read on our flight, and that book was the same Harry Potter book as this show, so it just felt right to go to that one! 🥹

We went to dinner first up the road from where we are staying! It was so pretty inside and so fun, though my drink was VERY strong! 😅

Then we got a ride over to the show, and Tay revealed the surprise! I was so excited and had so much fun! The show ended up being so good, and the magic elements were actually really well done.

It was such an amazing way to celebrate our 10-year anniversary, and finally do the things that we dreamed of doing 10 years ago… 🥹❤️

Sutton woke up to a little birthday surprise this morning for her FIRST birthday! 🥹💕

Kay thought ahead and brought some of her stuffed animals with us to NYC, so before she woke up this morning, we tied balloons to them and had them waiting for her. 🥹 We know how much she loves balloons, but I had no idea how she was going to react.

As soon as she saw them she started crawling as fast as she could to get to her animals and the balloons. 😭It was seriously the sweetest thing.

I still can’t believe our little girl is ONE. 🥹🩷 A year ago today we were in the hospital holding her for the first time, and now she’s crawling everywhere, laughing nonstop, playing with her sisters and turning into the funniest little girl. 💕🦕

She was also born on Kay’s late Gigi’s birthday, which makes this day extra special to Kay. 🥹🩷 I think it’s so sweet that they’ll always share October 7th.

Happy FIRST birthday to our sweet Sutton!! 🥹🩷🎂 We love getting to watch you grow and become more YOU every day. We can’t wait to celebrate you even more at your birthday party Saturday!! 🦖🎀🩰

backstory ::: It has somehow already been a YEAR since our sweet Sutton was born. It felt surreal when we woke her up, because it was our first time waking up our 1 year old!

She has grown so fast and is learning so much! She’s already on the move and loves to explore and crawl everywhere.

She’s so chatty and growly still, and is the happiest baby. She loves being carried around on all of our adventures and is constantly learning about the world around her!

We are a mix of happy and sad that she is 1, and love being able to be her parents! 🥹❤️

backstory ::: It’s October, which means I have been planning costumes for Halloween for the family! We always try to do a big family costume, and we are extra excited this year because it’s the first year that Ellie really knows what’s going on. She is so excited to knock on doors and trick-or-treat!

I thought it would be cute for the babies to be animals and us the safari guides! She thought Ellie could be an Ellie-phant. And Sutton could be a lion since she is always growling! 😂🥹 Idk if this is the one that we will ultimately pick, but regardless it is so precious! 🥹

backstory ::: Sutton and I sat down for a nap after playing, and Sutton quickly fell asleep. Tay was working, and after a couple hours, he came over to see how we were doing, and Sutton was STILL asleep! 😂

She usually takes little hour naps, but this one ended up being an over 2 hour nap! She must have been really tired or really comfortable, because she was sleeping so good!

As Tay was walking back over later, Sutton finally woke up. She was red faced, a little sweaty, and fully rested! It’s always so funny seeing how she is after a nap, because she is always so happy and full of energy while looking still so delirious! She was ready to play with toys and have a fun rest of her day! 😂🥰

backstory ::: Since Sutton could sit up on her own, it has been like 100° every day back in Dallas. It’s been so unbelievably hot this year and we because of that haven’t been able to play outside like we love to.

Since we are in NYC right now, and the weather is amazing, we wanted to spend more time outside with the babies! So we took Sutton to the park for the first time to swing and slide down the slide! 🥹

When we got there, both babies were so happy. Ellie tried the big girl swing for the first time and did so good. And then Sutton got to try! She was so giggly the whole time and had so much fun.

After a while of swinging, we took Sutton over to the slide while Ellie was playing, and let her slide down the slide a few times. It feels so nice to be somewhere where the weather isn’t so dangerously hot. We plan on doing a lot more playground and park playtimes with the girls while we are here! ❤️🥹

I was speaking on my Lupus journey as well as the Lupus walk that we were attending! I was nervous, but I think I did pretty well! 🥹

We heard that a Bluey house was built in NYC, so we knew we had to take the girls! We walked in and got them some puppy ears, and then we went through a secret door to Bluey’s house! We spent little while looking around and playing in the house.

Then we had a dance party and went to meet Bluey and bingo! Ellie was so excited to see Bluey and bingo and even gave them a hug! It was such a special moment, and Ellie is still talking about it! 😂🩵

backstory ::: We are having a family trip in NYC and decided to spend some time in Central Park. While we were there we wanted to let the girls have some hotdogs and pretzels because they are a famous snack around Central Park.

We rode up there and luckily there was a hotdog stand right where our taxi dropped us off. So we grabbed a pretzel and hotdog and headed into the park.

When we found a good spot, we stopped and let the girls try the foods. Sutton did NOT like the pretzel. 😅 but the hotdog… I’m not sure! 😂 Either way, it was a fun day walking around Central Park and enjoying the perfect weather!

backstory ::: We just got to NYC for a Lupus Charity walk and I was feeling extra worn out when we got here. So after Tay got the bags into the apartment, he got a few things and surprised me with a salt bath!

11 months! 🥹🧸🎀🤍

We took these a little while ago and are finally posting them just in time before her FIRST birthday 😅.

I genuinely cannot believe we are already here. It feels like I just had her yesterday, and somehow we’re already counting down the days until she turns one. 🥹

She has learned SO much just in the last month. You can tell she is trying so hard to catch up to Ellie so she can run around and play with her. 😂

She watches everything she does and immediately wants to do it too. She just wants to be one of the big kids so bad lol.

She is truly the sweetest little girl and so curious about everything. She absolutely adores her big sisters, and one of my favorite parts of every morning is watching her light up when Ellie comes downstairs to see her at breakfast. 🥹

Her little personality comes out more and more every day and it’s so fun getting to watch who she’s becoming. She is happy, curious, determined and just the sweetest little thing.

We’ve also been busy planning her first birthday and I cannot WAIT for you guys to see the theme. 🥹 It is truly so HER and I’m so excited to see it all come together.

backstory ::: A few months ago, Ellie randomly developed a fear of the vacuum cleaner. I’m not really sure why, maybe because how loud this one is compared to our old one, but she hates it and always climbs up on the couch or chairs whenever we are cleaning.

We have been trying to let her hold it to make her more brave around it, but I think because of how big and loud it is, she is too scared. So I got her a smaller vacuum that’s her size in hopes that it will make her more comfortable around vacuum cleaners! 😅

We use them quite often to clean up their little crumb messes, so her not being scared of it would be amazing! 😅🩵
