My story isn’t just about a hip replacement—it’s about finding purpose through one of the hardest seasons of my life.
At 45 years old, I was diagnosed with arthritis in my right hip. As the pain progressed, I eventually needed a total hip replacement. On March 4, 2026, I had surgery, and thankfully, everything went beautifully.
What I wasn’t prepared for was the recovery outside of the hospital.
I lost a job that I truly loved. I spent weeks at home feeling isolated, discouraged, and battling depression. The people I had always shown up for during their difficult moments weren’t there when I needed them most. That hurt more than the surgery itself.
But that season taught me something I’ll never forget…
I am stronger than I ever imagined.
Instead of allowing disappointment to define me, I decided to let it shape my purpose.
That’s how The Healing Edit was born.
The Healing Edit is for anyone recovering from surgery, illness, or life-changing medical procedures. I create thoughtful recovery boxes designed to bring comfort, keep your mind engaged, and remind you that you are not alone.
But I didn’t want to stop there.
Sometimes what people need most isn’t another text message that says, “Let me know if you need anything.” They need someone who actually shows up.

My Sonshine is moving away, and my heart is already feeling the weight of it. As a mother, every part of me wants to protect him from life’s disappointments, pain, and challenges. But one of the hardest lessons I’ve learned is that sometimes love means stepping back and allowing your children to spread their wings.
It feels as though a piece of my heart is being carried away, yet I couldn’t be more proud of the man he has become. Watching him chase his dreams and create his own path is both bittersweet and beautiful.
While I’ll miss him more than words can express, I know he’s destined for great things. So today, I choose joy over sadness, pride over fear, and gratitude for the privilege of watching my Sonshine blossom into exactly who he was meant to be. ❤️
