1.26.20 🖤 I’ll always remember that day.. what I was doing, who I was with, how unreal it felt, and the pause the world took.. There have been many pauses throughout history - but none as unanimously felt, in observance of the loss of a single person.. and evermore so an athlete. Then there was the overwhelming heartbreak of realizing he wasn’t alone.. That there were 8 other amazing souls who were taken from their families too - including his beautiful baby girl. Losses that were earth shattering for so many. But tragedy does not come without opportunity for healing and growth - and for me, the reality of life’s fragility was driven home in a new way.

We are only here for a moment in time. There are no guarantees, no promises, or levels of status/success that can keep us here, when it’s our time to go. We have only ONE chance to get it right down here and the most important thing at the end of our time, will be how well we used all that we had to accomplish our life’s purpose.

So in the words of the wife of another legend we lost last year, Taylor Ledward Boseman “Take your time, but don’t waste your time.”

We’ve been on 14 days of prayer & fasting with our church fam @social_dallas and yesterday was BUSY, so we had to eat out (still clean eats of course) and ya girl was hungry. I chose to do liquids during the day and raw foods in the evening for week one and switched over to just whole foods (cooked or raw) in our week two. This fast has defiantly brought clarity and understanding to me in many ways. It’s made me more conscious of what I’m consuming - physically, mentally, and emotionally. And the best part is that it’s brought me closer to Jesus. So for these things, I am GRATEFUL.

My intentions are to:
1. Start, continue, & end the year with God.
2. Treat myself as well as I treat those I love.
3. Focus on God ideas vs. Good ideas.
4. Love well and freely receive the love that’s all around me.

So one of my quarantine goals was to finally develop a solid fitness routine - HOWEVER I can assure you that I still have not 😆 Just had to submit an audition that called for cute workout gear lol

Tips for visiting Tulum ☀️

Comfortable Shoes • Tulum is a small community in Mexico and one of the primary modes of travel are bicycles. We rode around 12 miles the first two days we were there and it was FUN - but comfortable shoes were a must.

Sunscreen • It’s a tropical climate and the sun is fierce this time of year, so sunscreen is a must. I wore my @blackgirlsunscreen the entire trip, to protect my melanin from the harsh rays and so should you.

Insect Repellent • Tulum is comprised of ocean fronts, jungles, and mangroves and anytime you have water & nature, the bugs will be there, too. We used a natural repellent provided by our hotel every day, but still didn’t escape without several misquote bites, so I suggest you take one of you choice and spray yourself daily.
