Did you know creating or observing art has the ability to make us feel happier? It’s because it reduces cortisol & releases endorphins — the feel good chemicals. 🫶🏼

I decided to get hands on with this piece, I started off covering it with mud using my hands, then I rolled out long pieces of clay to make waves which I then adhered to the canvas. Once I was happy with it, I painted over it with white acrylic paint. 🤍

How to create an abstract painting —

✨ Add textured gel or modelling paste with a spatula
✨ Choose a direction to create some movement & flow
✨ I chose this circular direction because I plan to paint a circular shape over it in another colour & I want the paint to flow with the texture
✨ Let the texture dry over night
✨ Once it’s fully dry you can paint over everything with your background colour, mine is going to be white
✨ You can keep experimenting with texture & colour as you build upon the layers
✨ Once you’re happy with your piece, sign & date it on the bottom right hand corner
✨ Lastly, spray it with a clear coat to protect it and prevent it from changing colour over time

3. Blend, Blend, Blend: Blending is crucial for a natural look. Use quality brushes or sponges to blend foundation, eyeshadow, and blush seamlessly into your skin.

4. Highlight and Contour: Use highlighting and contouring to accentuate your features. Highlight the high points of your face (cheekbones, brow bone, nose bridge) and contour areas where you want to add depth (under cheekbones, jawline, sides of the nose). I use Arbonne’s cruelty-free bronzer!

5. Kissable Pout: Exfoliate your lips with a gentle scrub or a toothbrush before applying lipstick. This removes dead skin and creates a smooth canvas. I lined my lips & applied a non-sticky lip serum from Arbonne. This has botanical ingredients in it which give you a plumper looking pout. 💋
