Heatwave dressing at its best!

I found my style after having kids. Not before.

Before I became a mum I bought everything. Trends that lasted one season. Things that looked great in the shop and never came off the hanger at home. A wardrobe full of clothes that somehow never added up to an actual style.

Then I had kids and everything changed.

Suddenly I had no time to get it wrong. No patience for pieces that only worked one way. No interest in buying something I’d stop wearing in three months.

So I stripped everything back and started again. This time with a completely different approach.

Timeless pieces that never date. Elegant basics that work for every version of my day. Easy outfits I can reach for without thinking. Quality over quantity every single time.

Not trends. Not fast fashion. Not things bought for a life I don’t actually live.

Just beautiful classic pieces that make me feel great every time I wear them. That work on a busy Tuesday as well as they do on a Saturday. That I’ll still be reaching for in five years time.

My kids didn’t take my style away. They gave me the clarity to finally find it.

Ad/pr Which one would you choose?

Wimbledon has always been on my wish list. Sadly not this year, but hopefully one day I’ll make it there.

So I did the next best thing and picked what I’d wear if I did.

Dress code says timeless tailoring, beautiful silhouettes and something that can survive the heat. These two ticked every box.

One is classic and ladylike, the kind of dress that makes you stand a little taller.

The other is pure summer, broderie anglaise in the perfect Wimbledon blue, styled with wedges because comfort is always key.

What makes both of these special is that they’re not trend pieces. They’re timeless and elegant, the kind of dresses you’ll still reach for years from now. That’s always my rule when choosing what to invest in, pick pieces that stand the test of time, not just the season.

I never thought I'd say this. But here we are.

I bought balloon trousers.

You all know how I feel about trends. I've built my whole wardrobe around classics. Pieces I wear year after year. Things that don't date, don't disappoint and don't end up at the back of the wardrobe after one season.

So balloon trousers were never on my radar. Not even slightly.

Then I tried them on.

And something unexpected happened. They were comfortable. They were easy. They looked effortless with the simplest white top I own. And when I looked in the mirror I didn't think "I'm wearing a trend." I thought "I actually love this outfit."

So here's what I've learned. Sometimes a trend earns its place. Not because everyone is wearing it. Not because it's everywhere right now. But because it actually works for your body, your lifestyle and your wardrobe.

This one passed the test.

The rule I always come back to is simple. If I can wear it multiple ways, if it works with pieces I already own and if I'd still reach for it next summer then it earns its place. These did all three.

I'm converted. Reluctantly. But completely.

Most people buy a co-ord and only ever wear it one way. Here's why that's the biggest wardrobe mistake you can make.

I've always loved a co-ord. Easy to throw on, looks expensive, feels effortless. For me it's the ultimate summer outfit.

But it was during a wardrobe audit with @annamewes that something really clicked.

She told me to make sure every co-ord I own works hard in my wardrobe. That I can wear it more than one way. That each piece stands alone just as well as it does together.

That one piece of advice changed how I shop completely.

So here I am showing you exactly that. One co-ord. Six different outfits. All styled with pieces I already owned.

Because a great co-ord shouldn't just work as a matching set. It should slot into your existing wardrobe and multiply what you can do with it.

Before I buy any co-ord now I ask myself three questions. Can the top work without the bottom? Can the bottom work without the top? Can I style each piece at least two different ways?

If the answer is yes it earns its place in my wardrobe.

This one passed every test.
