There are a few key things couples should pay attention to when touring venues! Read more below!!

• Flow between spaces – Think about how guests will move from the ceremony to cocktail hour to the reception. Easy movement between spaces is key (and bar location matters!).

• Bridal & groom suites – Make sure there’s enough room for your wedding party. You’ll have LOTS of bags, dresses, and items with you that day. Space and mirrors are essential so everyone can get ready comfortably.

• Rental time – Check how many hours your venue rental includes. A full wedding day timeline matters! If the rental starts at noon, you’ll need to adjust your ceremony time and hair/makeup schedule accordingly.

• Decor closet – This is a huge bonus! Some venues offer leftover decor from past weddings. It can save you money and means less for you to buy and store after the wedding.

• Backup plan – Planning an outdoor ceremony? Always ask what the rain plan is and how easily things can move indoors.

• Guest count – Make sure both ceremony and reception spaces comfortably fit your guest list. I recommend creating a rough guest list before touring venues.

• Vendor flexibility – Some venues require you to use their preferred vendors or in-house services (like bar service). Be sure you understand where you have flexibility.
