This nursery is coming along! Got this progress photo from the client and I’m so excited to see it when it’s finally done.

The slate blue molding and plaid wallpaper are up, the soft neutral furniture is in, and the chandelier looks fantastic!

We’ll be finishing off this nursery design with drapery, an accent rug, ottoman, artwork, and more decor. Check back to see the finished space!

Is it something in the water? I’ve designed more twins nurseries this past year than ever before. Luckily, this client had a large room to work with so we were able to fit two cribs, a dresser and glider.⁠
⁠
The client wanted a modern nursery design with high contrast, lots of color and plenty of fun, so we started with the wallpaper she already had and worked from there.⁠
⁠
The black nursery furniture has acrylic, so it doesn’t feel too heavy, and the unexpected accent colors of slate blue and coral are bright and cheery.⁠

So many Virtual Design clients are asking for a sophisticated nursery. When I first started as a designer, most nursery decor available had more juvenile themes, but that's not the case anymore!⁠
⁠
Designing a nursery with a sophisticated base means it will blend more seamlessly with your home and give you a lot more versatility. It's much easier and more affordable when you can just switch out some decor instead of replacing wallpaper or thematic furniture. It also makes things easier if you want to repurpose the room for a future child, as a guest room, etc.⁠

For this client, we started with an elegant neutral foundation and added in touches of bird decor and blush pink. See the whole space on the blog!

This is the second nursery we designed virtually for this client in Texas. She had a baby on the way, so we designed that nursery first, and then also worked on her existing daughter's nursery. ⁠
⁠
This one is full of color and pattern! She wanted this space to reflect her daughter's personality and include blush pink, light blue and butter yellow. Plus, flower wallpaper, a reading chair and storage for toys.⁠

This sweet neutral nursery design was for a client who wanted a soft and serene space with touches of sage green and mixed wood nursery furniture.⁠ Even though this nursery is for a boy, we designed it as a fully gender neutral space so most things can be reused for a second child.⁠

So many clients have been requesting warmer wood tones for nursery furniture lately. Pairing these tones with softer slate blues is more versatile than navy blue, and more sophisticated than baby blue. ⁠

For this virtual design, we created a classic girl’s room that blends traditional charm with sweet, feminine details—think blush pink drapery, a sage green upholstered headboard, warm wood tones, and layered cozy textures.⁠

One of my favorite parts of this design was incorporating the client’s antique dresser (an heirloom piece with so much character!). It instantly made the room feel personal, collected, and truly one-of-a-kind.⁠

This room was designed to grow with her—beautiful now, and still just as timeless years from now.⁠

If you’ve been seeing more nursery designs with sweet traditional details, it’s because more and more clients are asking for them! This Virtual Nursery Design was for a client who wanted traditional French details in her nursery for her second baby girl.⁠

For the new nursery, she wanted something a bit bolder with whole-room wallpaper and paneling. We found a stunning traditional floral wallpaper with a neutral background that pops against the white paneling. The floral and vine pattern is so pretty and fits perfectly with the French traditional theme.⁠
