Do you have a cleaning routine you follow?

As a stay-at-home-mom of 7+ years, I have found that having a cleaning company do my cleaning, or having a cleaning routine are the best ways for me to not feel overwhelmed with the constant cleaning that needs to happen.

In this season of life having a cleaning company doesn’t fit into the budget, so a cleaning routine it is. 🫠

Every Monday I like to go through and just do a good Monday reset of our house & do the laundry.

Tuesday’s or Wednesday’s are usually a good day for me to do my weekly cleaning.

Friday’s are another day I like to do a mini reset in preparation for the weekend.

Monday’s & Thursday’s are designated laundry days.

Having this system has made homemaking so much easier and more enjoyable.

- figure out what’s for dinner

Honestly, this isn’t too bad. Knocked out everything except the last 3 tasks in about 2.5 hours or so and that felt really productive. 👏🏼

Do you ever just wonder if you are doing a good enough job as a mom?😩

I think probably every mom wonders this during many different seasons of motherhood.

As a stay-at-home-mom, I feel like I am in this little bubble almost because I am always around my kids, and of course the 5 minutes that were hardest out of the entire day, are the moments I always seem to remember at the end of the day.🫠

Let’s chat about why my Monday reset helps me not feel overwhelmed with my cleaning as a SAHM.👏🏼

Let’s be honest, I don’t want to do more house chores on the weekend than I need to, so Monday’s are the day I catch up and do a good Monday reset.

What does this include:
- laundry (I do laundry on Monday & Thursday’s)
- wipe the master bathroom toilet and sink
- sweep all the floors as needed
- catch up on all the dishes
- wash the sheets (sometimes I do it a different day, but doing it Monday’s is the best)
- make a to-do list for the week (this helps with the mental load so much)
- make a meal plan (using a meal rotation systems is amazing, but I definately have been slacking in meal planning lately)
- catch up on all the dishes from the weekend and tidy the kitchen as needed

I have found that doing these simple things really helps our house feel ready for a new week and I don’t have to clean my entire house.

Then, Tuesday’s or Wednesday’s is usually a good day for me to do my weekly cleaning.

Using this Monday reset, along with my weekly cleaning, really helps me not feel overwhelmed & makes managing our home so much easier.
