Your natural hair routine from start to finish 💖🫶🏾

I used Mielle pomegranate and honey shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, and coil sculpting custard. Typically for shampoo I use Pantene Root stimulating shampoo, and Carols daughter goddess strength cocoon mask (my faves).

My fave stylers are the same leave in, or shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil leave in, or Marc Anthony strictly curls leave in, with carols daughter true stretch defining cream, & African pride moisture miracle oil 💖 (the LCO method).

Technically, this is what a real wash and go would look like. No gels, foams, heavy defining creams or defining brushes. Just some leave in conditioner and moisturizer after shampooing and conditioning. No need for the extra defined curls either…

Wash and gos have become very polished. Soon I will challenge myself to stop at applying the leave in and moisturizer in the shower, then that’s it. Maybe diffuse it to make it dry faster 🤷🏾‍♀️ we’ll see! 🫶🏾✨

How I deal with my short postpartum edges when styling my natural hair 😆😍

I noticed around 4 months pp my edges were thinning (which was about the same after my firstborn). Around 6 months pp they started growing back and I could see the tiny little follicles coming through 😊 I haven’t done much except to avoid high tension styles. Even though I braid the front of my hair, it’s not too tight and the direction of the braids aren’t pulling much on my edges.

Now, at 7 months pp, my edges are thick and full, just short 😆 Some edge control, an edge brush, and a rat tail comb will always help me blend the edges 😊

I first sprayed water on my hair, then used Marc Anthony strictly curls leave in, then used the doux crazy sexy curl foam mousse for some extra definition all over. 💗💗 I wash my hair weekly, but if I get busy or lazy, this will hold me over until wash day. ☺️
