DIY floral frog DIY Floral frog instructions. 1. Pick a vase and measure the opening. Add about 1 inch to the diameter. This will be the size of your floral frog. 2. Roll out air dry clay to the size in step 1. Optional: use a leaf and press it to make a pattern. 3. Use a straw or clay tool to add 10-15 holes. This is for the flower stems. 4. Let the air dry clay dry. This will take several days. 5. Once dry, prime the clay with an acrylic primer (I will link it in the comments). 6. Then, paint the color of your choice with acrylic paint. 7. Once dry, paint a sealer coat. 8. Once this is dry, your floral frog is ready for use!!
