I hadn’t been to Senegal in over 10 years and the only thing I could think about having again was dibi.

I was first introduced to this wonderful food when I first touched down when I made the life-changing decision to study abroad here while I was in college. Usually grilled lamb over charcoal at street-side dibiteries, eating dibi with family and friends is a best feeling.

On my first trip back in over a decade, I found myself craving it — not just for the taste, but for the memories tied to it from when I studied abroad here. (That’s another story for another day LOL.)

I almost didn’t get to have it but thankful I was finally able to make it happen.

I didn’t expect an ATV to become my main way of exploring Curaçao… but somehow it turned into one of my favorite days on the island.

From riding alongside cars (slightly terrifying 😅), to fresh coconut on the roadside, a quiet beach break, and learning more about Curaçao’s Afro-Portuguese roots, experiencing the island in motion was simply AMAZING.

October came in with a full dose of fall energy — and I leaned right in 🍁 My first Catskills trip took me to Delaware County, where I was reminded just how much there is to explore in New York beyond the city.

Biking the Catskills Scenic Trail was such a highlight — but honestly, even the in-between moments like this made the weekend special. A little sunshine, a little color, and a comfy outfit to match the mood.

Day one in Curaçao was filled with color, culture, and a whole lot of flavor.

From exploring the vibrant streets of Willemstad in a Tuk Tuk, to tasting local dishes at Plasa Bieu, and ending the day with tacos, mezcal, and a rooftop nightcap—it was the perfect mix of laid-back and inspiring.

I even got to paint with one of the island’s most iconic artists, Francis Sling. His studio and energy? Unmatched.
