While I curate wardrobes for a living it’s equally a pleasure to work on my own. Of course I’m always tempted by lots of styles I see so I’m pretty selective with purchases and making sure they really do a different job to my current pieces.
Here’s the latest investment pieces I’ve added and why! I think I’m finally ready to say…bring on winter ❄️
Stumbled across this multi belt pack this week. If you don’t own any belts, new to wearing belts or just looking for an inexpensive way to add some trend elements to your winter wardrobe this could be it!

Love the key seasonal colours in the pack as well as the belt size range (xx to xxl) and under $30 bucks so that’s $10 per belt. The narrower belt does a good job on trousers, belting a blazer or longer jacket or just wide enough to finesse an outfit without bulking at the middle

If you want the details just comment BELT and I can send the info direct to your inbox

Had a client spend close to $300 in target and this is what we picked up and did with them

This client didn’t want to spend a lot on updating her wardrobe given she was in between fluctuating sizes so needed outfits to tide her over and would fit the bill for work and social occasions. That’s also the reason we went for tops that allowed for ample room.

A reminder to think through what you buy and how you’ll wear it. That was this clients biggest struggle with shopping. She has previously purchased garments not really thinking through what’d she’d wear them with hence leaving her with random items and not whole outfit solutions. It’s also the reason she wore a small % of what she actually owns.
6 pieces with minimum 9 different outfits 🙌

If your keen on any of these pieces you can comment TARGET and I’ll DM you the exact ones
Did you know that anytime I shop with a client I ALWAYS start with bottoms? I always want to know the colours I’m working with to build upwards in terms of tops/outerwear and shoes.

I’m seeing a lot of this colour (which is perfect for 🍂) as it’s a muted mid tone hue. This light olive is a goodie because it’s not too light -a lot of clients don’t feel comfortable in whites/creams/beiges for the potential of getting dirty quickly, being sheer and less forgiving than other shades. It’s also not too dark in colour so goes with lots! I’ve put together 8 different looks using a multitude of different colourways.

The colour pant you didn’t know you needed??? Or perhaps some inspiration for something similar you already own!
It’s been ages since I’ve done a fab find but this one was worth the wait! …and it’s client approved. My client and I popped into cotton on at the last part of our shop getting a few different style tops to suit the skirt, trousers and jeans she got. She has broad shoulders and a generous bust with a very short décolletage so typically normal v-necks sit too low for daily wear.

Besides being affordable it’s that v-neckline that prompted me to show her this tee. The short v provides a hint of length and draws the eye vertically which is helpful for her shape. It also doesn’t look so basic in the v-shape and doesn’t require any tucking in as it reached the top of her bottoms just right

I know you see a bunch of pretty dresses but this doesn’t happen by accident. I’ve previously chatted to this client about styles of dresses she wanted and how she wanted to wear them. She also had her non negotiables about wanting pockets, wanting work friendly styles as well as ones with a sleeve. Her challenge and the reason she reached out to shop with me was to find styles that suited her body shape. She has narrow shoulders in relation to her hips and is very short waisted so went for styles that offered waist definition lower than her actual waist with a little volume around the upper body but not too much as we had a large bust to work with.

Purchasing x5 dresses is no mean feat.
We intentionally picked up 2 mini, 2 midi and 1 special occasion.
It’s a big call but every client wants an elevated staple and I’ve found a major contender for the best one this season.

A T-shirt with a twist because of its textured fabric which adds dimension and the right amount of structure/slouch.

I always know it’s party season when I see all the sequins land in store. It wouldn’t be festive without a little sparkle, glitz and metallic

I’ve looked high and low at @chadstone.au to bring you the best of the bling around. Once reserved for night time only most pieces are very wearable for daytime and dialled down with a tee and trainers help to get max wear from your sparkly separates

No sequins were harmed in the making 😝
“Capsule wardrobe” was a buzz word in the styling world a few years back and it’s still relevant today.
A capsule can be described as a curation of mix and match pieces that all go together making dressing seamless ….

Sounds great in theory right? Here are a few tried and tested tips I personally use DAILY shopping clients own capsule wardrobe that totally work.

The curation part isn’t easy for most especially if you don’t have an eye for colour pairings, it’s too much of a mental task to solve or you’re lacking time to research, plan and outfit build so I hope these simple tips help!

A reminder
1. Start with your selection of bottoms first and build up outfits from these as a base
2. Create and carry a shopping list of what your looking for and be as specific as possible to filter out options and stay accountable to the task
3. Versatility can be abit vague but remember my Maya’s of having at least 3 different ways to wear for any piece to be a viable option in your wardrobe
By now you know the drill with a new piece of clothing…it needs to be able to create at least 3 different outfits for you to warrant the purchase…..
well I made a Black Friday clothing purchase and I ❤️
Why? Because I don’t own any bottoms in this colourway, because the fabric weight and marle texture of them can take me across seasons and they work with open toe shoes plus boots
