Mummy Cheese!

Recipe:

Ingredients:
1 wheel puff pastry sheet, thawed
1 wheel (6-8 pieces) Babybel original cheeses, unwrapped and wax removed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Candy eyeballs (or drops of cream cheese & black sesame seeds/sliced black olives)

Instructions
1. Prep Preheat: Heat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Slice Strips: Unroll the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut thin, thin strips (about 1/4 inch wide) using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
3. Wrap the Mummies: Wrap 3-4 strips of pastry crisscross around each unwrapped Babybel cheese to create a “mummy bandage” look, leaving a small gap open near the top for the face/eyes. Pinch the loose ends underneath so Wrap the mummies.
4. Egg Wash: Place the wrapped cheeses on your prepared baking sheet and lightly brush the top of the pastry strips with beaten egg wash for a golden-brown finish.
5. Bake: Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. (Note: A tiny bit of cheese may ooze, which adds to the spooky look!)
6. Add Eyes: Let them cool for 3-5 minutes so the pastry sets. Press two candy eyeballs into the small opening on each mummy !! (use a small dab of honey or cream cheese to stick them if needed). Serve nice and warm!
