Romanticize every part of your life, because there were once days when you prayed with all your heart for the very moments you’re living now. I used to work as an ER nurse, and one of my deepest dreams was to be a more present, involved mother. I longed to be there for school drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups. I dreamed of folding laundry at 11 a.m., of having both little girl and little boy clothes to put away, of dancing in my dining room, and of lingering in conversations with other moms after school. These ordinary moments….the ones we often rush through, overlook, or take for granted, are the very moments I once prayed for. They are the answered prayers hidden in everyday life. Looking back, I can see how many doors had to open for me to be here, living a life I once only imagined. So today, I choose to slow down and savor it. Not because every day is perfect, but because so much of what feels ordinary now was once a dream.
