Here’s a little ribbon tip that makes a big difference! 🎀
I like to attach my ribbon using long pieces of paddle wire instead of pinching it into a branch. On my flocked tree, those branches are stiff with flocking, and this trick keeps both the branches and my ribbon in perfect shape.

It’s gentler, easier to adjust, and keeps that beautiful ribbon from getting creased. ✨

Sometimes the smallest change makes the biggest impact!

Forget the ribbon rules and try this loopy ribbon technique in your tree topper. I love using unconventional ribbon techniques and breaking the rules.

If you want to try something differnt this year, start by taking the ribbon off the bolt and letting it wrap naturally around your arm. Next, bring it to the top of the tree and attach each loop with a piece of wire. This technique creates soft, dimensional loops all around the top of the tree.

In this video I am using my most popular ribbon that has finally arrived and is in stock for 2025. It’s a luxurisous white velvet with a large glitter snowflake down the center. It’s stunning and so easy to work with.

I used (2) 50 foot connectable cluster lights on the trunk of the tree. Then, I put (3) cascading lights on the top of the tree. Finally, I added (5) 75 foot snake lights on the branches.

This is a 10 foot full tree with a total of 8,000 warm white lights and 1,800 cascading lights.

Yes, they twinkle!

I added these lights using my top to bottom zigzagging zag method that makes lighting your tree so easy!

This simple wire trick keeps everything at the top of the tree in place including the cascading lights. Here’s a simple trick that makes a huge difference when decorating your tree topper!
I always keep a ring of wire loosely around the top of my tree — it helps hold my topper picks securely in place. Now, I’m also using it to hold my cascading lights! 💫

Just drop your picks (or cascading lights) down through the ring, and the tension tightens around them to keep everything steady and beautiful. 🙌

How to fluff a Christmas tree 👇

Whether your tree has been in a bag or box in your attic or in a store, it’s not going to be ready to decorate as soon a it comes out of that bag or box. No. It’s going to need a minute and a little help waking up. That’s when the fluffing starts.

So, how do you fluff a tree, anyway? You simply spread those branches out. Some tree have their own instructions with examples of how to shape the branches, but basically you are spreading everything out.

I like to start on the back of a branch and stand up all the smaller branches and work my way to the front of the branch. When I get to the outside tip of the branch, it usually spreads out into a Star shape.

Fill in as many holes as you can with your fluffed up branches and give the tree its natural shape. Once it’s all fluffed up, it will be ready for the lights!

The pre-lit lights may have quit… but this tree wasn’t done shining. 🌲✨

When only part of my pre-lit tree lit, I couldn’t bring myself to throw it out. It’s the perfect size, perfect shape — and honestly, too beautiful to end up in a landfill.

So instead of replacing it, I cut off every old light and added my own snake lights — and now it looks even better than before! 💡

This little project saved me hundreds, gave my tree a second life, and the now I can add a many lights as I want. 🙌
